Please don't ever buy triangle talon tires

I don't wan't any of you fellow e34'ers to make the same mistake i just did.
I bought two for the front as the tread looked really cool, it was m+s rated and the price was right. 1k miles later and these tires are lowder than any mud terrain i've ever run on any of my trucks or jeeps. The hum is so loud and obnoxious that it trasmits into my inner ear and almost gives me a headache after long hauls. i'm embaraced to bring peeps in my car because the hum is soo loud, I need to get rid of these asap.

    here's what they look like

Never heard of the brand, which would be a huge strike against them in my book. This would make me research them before buying, personally.

I seriously hope "the tread looked really cool" did not bear any actual weight in your decision to buy.

LOL, why would you buy a tire that is called a triangle in the first place. Im weary of all off brand tires.

Yikes, hope they hold up on you. Any chance you can get a refund? Partial refund?

I'm partial to the Tire Rack just because of their customer reviews. I'll go with 2nd tier brands (Falken) but I'm not going to be the first to try a new brand and be stuck with something for years.

Put them on the rear and go burn em up!

    Hes got the solution!!

That, or i'm sure you can get a refund. 1k miles is not much for a tire. You should try that first, if it dont work, burn them.

My wife's car came with a set of them. I had to inflate them to 44psi to get them to wear normally and rotate every 4k. They're pretty sub-par.

I've had a bad experience with the Falken's. They tend to wear uneven and just wear out way too quickly.

Hmmm, I picked up a brand new set of Talons on the cheap last March. Ran them all summer (~15K miles) on 17" rims. When I swapped out for winter wheels in Nov, I inspected. Tread wear was barely noticeable, nothing looked amiss. I never got the loud hum either.

I didn't click the link, but if those tires were triangle shaped I may have found your issue.

Man oh man. Here I've been changing thrust arms like crazy trying to get rid of the vibration and all along it was the shape of the tires? Boy do I feel foolish...

Either you got lucky or i got a fluke pair with insane NVH issues. I put on a different set to see if i had a hub bearing going out and it wen't away, although i have noticed very little to no tread wear, its an extremely hard tread compound. I've tried 29 and 42 psi's but it made no difference.

Cheap, no-name budget tires being loud???!!! OMG!!! I would have never assumed that!

Sorry. Sarcasm isn't for everyone...but srs...would you buy a 1993 BMUU and expect it to hold up like a BMW?

I didn’t start this post to get belittled. Some cheaper tires actually turn out to be decent, just not in this case. I’ve had a lot of cars/trucks with a lot of different tires and the NVH with these is truly unlike anything I’ve ever heard. I was just trying to warn the community of a mistake I made so as to not let it happen to anyone else but I guess I’ll keep my mouth shut next time. Thanks for giving me a refresher of why I don’t come here often….

I ran a pair on the rear, they are quiet and wear better than the falkens did ... (so far)

You don't need to start a post to get belittled. The flame comes with territory.
You learned a valuable lesson, cheap tires make for cheap fodder...
I tried Kumhos after getting mixed reviews and I am not happy, so I share your pain.
I will let you know how I make out with Cooper Tires in spring. 25,000 miles in 3 years on the Kumhos and they wont pass inspection this time. Can't fault the fact that my front suspension is past it, it's the rear camber that chewed them up. I run staggered so no rotation, but still, it is time to replace all four.

Let them hate. Some just seems to think that the more you pay the more you have. Wich is realy not always the case. I'm all for cheap tires. Some are pretty good and do last as long, or longuer, than expensive tires. And it's good to know wich one to avoid. Thanks for the input.

If you guys don't like noise, don't get the BFG "1g turn" tires either. My friend has them on his Passat (laugh if u must) and they're are RIDICULOUSLY loud. It's stupid. I've heard quieter mud boggers.

OP, you buy cheap, off brand tires and are disappointed? Lol, what did you expect? If you're on a budget, pick up some lightly used brand name ones. That's what I do.

I think some of us don't settle for "pretty good" because our cars often reach high speeds. My life is worth more than a few hundred dollars.

Why don't you go back and complain? Perhaps there's something wrong that they can rectify (replace).
