Hi,
I'm getting the following message in my 2006 BMW 750LI: Fluid loss in steering or suspension hydraulic system. I suspect it is the power steering fluid because I heard a 'humming noise' when I turned into the garage yesterday. I looked through the manual and under the hood and I dont' see where to put it. I feel this is something I can do myself if an expert can tell me what the best brand of fluid is and where the reservoir is located under the hood! Thanks a mill!
There is a black resevoir on driver's side of engine compartment (around shock tower area) The fluid is called CHF11S it will say that on the cap. You can get this fluid at NAPA or BMW dealer; it comes in green metal container
Thanks a bunch. Just went to the garage with a flashlight and found it.
just top it off. DO NOT OVERFILL. it wont hurt anything if you do it just makes a mess b/c it will push back out of the cap. If the light comes back on than you have a leak. these systems are known to lose fluid from time to time

I have the same vehicle with the same problem. 2006 750i. Can anybody tell me what is the most common cause, (where would the leak be?).
hoses can leak due to the extreme amt of pressure and heat they are consistently put under.
Like I stated b4, just top it off and see what it does.
