I need to chop up the cam sensor ring on my M62 but I am not sure how to find TDC on it. Halp!
Number 5. What on it represents TDC?
Thanks.

when the engine is at top dead center, there is a fixture that gets bolted to the top of the head that aligns the disk using a reamed hole in the disk. it holds the disk from turning while tightening the bolt.
im afraid you will need to align the timing all over with the crank pin, cam blocks, and disc tools.
to line up the disk, the cams, and crank must be locked.
if you are looking to modify your timing, id suggest bringing the engine up to TDC, then looking through the CPS hole, and marking the sensor.
remember to check to make sure both valves are closed, there is 2 crank revolutions (4 stroke cycle) to 1 cam revolution. the intake valve should close just before
TDC on the fire stroke.

While that's mildly related, it's not what I'm looking for.

Rotate that cam so it's square it up (with the writing facing up) and that is TDC.

did you end up finding where tdc was on it? Where was its placment? Im getting conflicting info. Some say the trigger ends up in the 12 o clock spot at tdc. Others right before the sensor? Mine is after the sensor (m60 placment) but i do not think it is in the right spot. Takes along time to start which is a symptom of campositionsensor.
