    E30 Original sticker prices?

Just curious to know what the average E30 sold for back in the day.

I saw a post once that mentioned something like $35k, but that just sounded way too high....I was thinking more like in the $20 to 25k range, but I don't know...

    Anyone know?

Is there a way to find out what it was exactly? Maybe from a dealer?

    Unreal...

$32,000 in 1987 adjusted for inflation to 2008 dollars is just over $59,800...

With that kind of sales price it's hard to believe there are that many of these cars on the road (and in the junk yard) ...guess they really were yuppie cars back then...

    Definately great cars though!

The '92 and '93 vert's were the most expensive E30's (according to this: http://www.e30tech.com/forum/showthr...t=64585&page=3) at a grand total of.... $36,320. They were more expensive than the M3! Mine was equipped with the winter package (heated seats, heated mirrors, lsd), power roof, cd changer and the optional 15" wheels, I've since changed them out for basketweaves though, I'm guessing mine was more than $36k. In todays dollars $36,320 would be $56,002.18. I used this for inflation differences: http://www.usinflationcalculator.com/. My mom bought her '87 eta for 25k! That is alot for an eta!

Paint sealant was expensive even in 91, huh?

Mine too, and that doesn't include delivery and destination fees. AWD is's (which is what we have) weren't cheap.

These prices somehow don't add up to me. I'm seeing 325es's for low 20's, but that list says they started at about 24k... but that list also says that the es was cheaper than the regular e. I don't think so! The es is better!

Mine was a middle-of-the-road setup: Cinnabar red on grey/black houndstooth comfort seats, 2.93LSD, foglights, 5-speed, 6-button OBC, power windows, central locking, mudflaps, wind deflector, pop-out windows (were these an option or standard?), and some other crap I can't remember.

I don't have the original sticker but the PO saved the CPO sticker when he bought my 87 is in the early 90's (91 I think) sale price then was still around 18k for a 4 yr old car at that point...

Whoa, an M3 in 91 was the same price as a vert? Fast forward 18 years and who'd of thought that a used M3 is worth as much as 10 times the vert.
