    are a waste of money
The only inertia sensing device I know of is for the SRS.

If there is some other inertia switch I'm all ears.

There is supposed to be one behind the kick panel on the pass side iirc.

I recall this being in the trunk area of my 95. I don't know if there is another location for other years and models. I recall that my manual said if the car was bumped that the disconnect switch for the fuel pump might activate.

Why not call the guys at Tischer BMW and ask them. I think they would check this out for you and let you know the location. Good guys...

I did a search in the e36 bentley manual and the only thing that came up for me regarding interia is the interia switch mode on the central locking device that unlocks all the doors incase of sensing an accident. I know 90's fords it is the trunk on the driver side. But I never even heard of one of these on the bimmers.. if someone knows of it lets hear it!

But you're problem sounds more of a crank position sensor or camshaft position sensor. Interia switches just cut off fuel pump delivery so that would not explain your no spark condition.
