My local BP station has finally now gone to 10% (or less) ethanol in their fuel. I would like to avoid the mix product altogether, if possible.
Is anyone aware of a chain that does non-ethanol gas across the board?
I've been told that some of the older stations can't use the 10% ethanol mix due to some additional layered shielding components required in the underground tanks.
Any input on this subject would be sincerely appreciated!...
I'm fairly certian Chevron doesn't use any additives. I could be wrong though.
10% ethanol sucks... it costs more and I get less MPG from it, but no gas station around here can be found without it.
Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by hundreds of engineers that get paid thousands of dollars for something you bought at Pep Boys because your buddy who doesn't have a job told you it was 'better'?!?
Maybe we are a little late, but I have not found it at any stations in the greater Pensacola area.
florida = mandatory ethanol state

Thanks as always for the great feedback, it's much appreciated, even if it isn't what I would have preferred to hear.....!
Now we just need to find the stations that are selling non-ethanol fuel for generators and marine applications. Then we'd back back in business.

Question-if a station has ethanol in their gas, don't they have to have a sticker on the pump that states X% ethanol in the gas? If there is no sticker on the pump, one would assume that there is no ethanol in the gas.
Yes grasshopper stations with ethanol now have stickers that say "may contain up to 10% ethanol"

and i read that ethanol actually disolves rubber lines and even aluminum.
in higher concentrations than 10%.
Also a BP Mart on S US1 in South Ft. Pierce is E0. Call your representative and voice your thoughts, it's the only way we can hope to change this!! The Ethenol lobby is trying to convince congress to raise it to 15%. Also visit E0.com for more info.
newer are suppose to be tolerant of up to 10% but according to a roundel article a lot of fuel pump failures are occuring along with fuel sender malfunctions.
ethanol has ruined my earth augar and caused major problems with my boat. The only place where I have found non ethanol regular is on the river at Ft Lauderdale at 3.84 a gallon.
What happens is that regular gas has a component (stablilizer) that when ethanol hits it turns into a white residue with the thickness of peanut butter. It melts rubber, plastic, neophrene and a lot of other stuff.
I have had to overhaul carbs, flush out tanks and replace filters more than once and still am getting residue.
Since boats are around water and ethanol (alcahol) absorbs water you can guess what is happening.
Your lawnmowers, chain saws and other power equipment are doomed to the junk heap unless we can find regular gas in central Florida. Automobiles usually don't keep the ethanol junk in the tanks long enough to cause too many problems, but don't let your car sit in the driveway or the ethanol.....water will go to the bottom of the tank and mix with the peanut butter
every gas station i go to is 10% "or less" here in brandon

Had no luck in finding a decent gas station with no ethanol but the Deerfield marina on Federal Hwy just opened their doors to sell their non ethanol gas. The power is back and rich
I know this is an old forum, but I found this site: http://www.pure-gas.org which has a list of stations in each city. I plan my fill ups when going on road trips by it and it is accurate so far. I pay $3.35 p/gal on average for non-ethanol fuel.
But I have to drive aways to get it. To the people trying to save the planet from "political science"..does this make any sense to you?
I'm lucky that Harris Oil is a couple of blocks away.
heads up, E15 on the way
