Besides a heat gun is sufficient to "loosen" the Red Locktite. The aluminum won't get hot enough to matter.

This is the best idea. The idea of a tabbed locking washer is used in the motorcycle world to contain the large nut on drive sprockets (just replaced that last week on my Trophy). Simple, inexpensive, and works great.
But you have to reasseble the engine to do this mod, right?

Well anyone could make them, it's a simple enough process. locking tab washers is an elegant and simple solution that should be fine.

Doubt that anyone who is willing and able to work on the cover gaskets/banjos would not be able to make some.

Those who pay to get maintenance done are likely not to care.

    Sales look dismal.

    Ask me...

OK a set of 10 special copper washers will cost about $ 33,-
Orders per PM please, gentlemen , I´ll coordinate it, best would be a group buy/shipping, then the price can be lowered maybe. Not a promise, just an assumption.
But for this option there should be a partner found in the states - who? ;-)

One of the wellknown bad issues of the M70 engine are destroyed camshafts because of loosen banjobolts.
Due this prob --> no lubrication --> goodbye camshaft!

The Banjo bolts back out, and fall into engine. Oil bar detaches and leaks, reducing pressure. Cam lobes suffer wear.

Acually not into engine, but they can fall into a bad place causing cam/lifter interference.

If you mean is it hard - not really. But it comes with mission creep.

That since a lot of things will be apart, you will be likely to want to open up and fix more things...

I knew that was going to come up. Fatandre, 'mission creep' is when other things come up to do while you have things apart to do the job you set out to do, or that you uncover something that is worn, weak, or broken. Think of it also as 'while I am there I might as well spend the time and/or money to fix that (or those) too'.

    ...or

    mission creep = scope creep

If one ever manages a project at work, one will often hear those terms interchangeably. Mission creep or scope creep will most of the time end up resulting in delayed completion time, added expenses, and human resources (man hours), etc, etc.

Looks like it would be a very nice, clean, and functional application to address the banjo bolt problem. Nice find!

Sounds like dealerspeak: "Mr. Smith, we repaired the rusted muffler hanger you brought the car in for and saw some suspect rust elsewhere, so we replaced your exhaust system from the center resonators rearward"
