Hi to all
I searched before posting but could not find a definitive answer.
I just swapped a euro S50B30 into my 325i and would like to know how to activate the oil temperature gauge.
Thanks
Did the gauge work with the original engine?

I meant the oil temperature gauge on the euro M3 cluster. The previous cluster did not have this gauge

Yeah, you need to add a wire and a pin to one of the connectors. I don't have a wiring diagram infront of me, and I deleted that information from my memory bank as soon as I got my car running.

I found out today that a wire has to be connected to pin 13 of connector 1 on the instrument cluster. Now I need to connect it to the data link connector

i'm also interested in this. when u got it sorted out please share it with us
bump!
anything new about this?
did anyone get this sorted yet i have the m3 gauges in my 328i & i would like to get the oil temp working
yes i did it.
You must wire the oil temp sender (if you don't have one, you'll have to install it or get something similar) to the pin 13 on the connector X13 that goes into your instrument cluster. The pin is free so you don't have to cut anything.
That's all
Thanks now for the dummy question were abouts on the engine would i find the temp sender i have a gb 328i m52
i'm pretty sure u dont have one, and u must install it.

ok this seems like its gona be alot of work due to the fact the euro m52 engine
has an oil pipe coming from were the us oil temp sender go,s.So i phoned my local bmw dealer and the best advice they could give me was drill & tap the sump and put it there my thoughts on that were are you *****ng mad
Does anyone have a wiring diagram for fitting an oil temp sender
i know it goes to pin 13 on the x13 connecter does it go straight to the sender or does it need to go via the odc
thanks in advance
the wire goes straigh to the sender!
you don't have to drill the sump... that's the last thing i would do (and btw my engine is euro too)
there are aftermarket "adapters" around that can help you. you can find them on ebay or http://www.360infiniteusa.com/engine...r-c-22_33.html , for example
thankyou i was starting to think this was more trouble than its worth
i`ll keep you updated on how i get on
cheers
