CEL Code P0015 How do you fix it.

My 2002 525iT service engine soon light is on. The code is P0015 "B" Camshaft Position -Timing Over-Retarded (Bank 1). What causes this? Will changing the camshaft position sensor fix it or is it something VANOS related? Any help would be appreciated.
    Unfortunatly I'm selling my 2002 525iT Sport http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...d.php?t=996824

Any resolution on this trouble code? I have P0015 and P0012 timing over-retarded on both camshafts.

Clean connections using contact cleaner and clear codes. Drive it around and if the codes return replace the cam sensors with OEM from the dealer. You will be asking for trouble otherwise.

I will check them right now... I can check the sensor output with a digital oscilloscope too, what kind of problems occur with them?

both camshafts generated codes at the same time. Is there one common element that would cause a vanos problem with both cams at the same time?
