(1996 - 2002) In 1996 BMW added the Z3 to the lineup. First available only with the 1.9 liter engine, the Z3 went on to carry every 6 cylinder produced between 1996 and 2002. A fun, sporty little 2 seater came both in convertible and coupe form. Being a bit of a “parts bin” car, the Z3 is part E30, part E36, but all original.

I picked up an oxygen sensor from a dealer that does not have the BMW symbol stamped on it nor the BMW part number stamped on it. It's also not marked "Bosch" but does have the Bosch symbol and Bosch part number stamped on it.
The white box has the regular BMW group sticker and the dealer inventory sticker, both with the BMW part number on it.
Most photos of BMW's OE sensors I've seen have the BMW symbol stamped on them. Just wondering if this is normal.

Here's the story: Cycle Gear is having a great sale on Bridgestone BT-016 and since the Monster has some W$&@*@^$ tires, I decided to get some good rubber. I've always hated having my tires installed by someone else as I always get the impression they are just tards that know how push buttons on a balancing machine without actually understanding the physics behind it. same thing with the bike...

Installing a tire is not hard but having balancing can be tricky... But then I run into Dyna Beeds that work quite ingeniously. They don't appear to show cars on their site, but there's no apparent reason to me why they shouldn't work... Not to mention than you won't have the ugly weight or the need to rebalance the tire as it wears...

Looks a no brainier to me: what you guys think?

Here's the main site: http://www.innovativebalancing.com/

Here's the how it works: http://www.innovativebalancing.com/c...otorcycleChart

Pure driving day

I decided to take the day off work today to take advantage of the great late summer weather before winter sets in and had one of my best pure road driving days ever !

The car was a pure pleasure to drive, the yellowstuff pads recently fitted have hit the mark perfectly, I can now judge the braking points with a lot more confidence and let the car balance itself in the bends without fear of brake fade. The new Storm Motorwerks gear stick was the icing on the cake and will be staying on the car for a long long time.

What made it a great driving day?: great car that was a pleasure to drive hard for 6 hours solid, great driving roads with light traffic and plenty of safe overtaking points and the fact I had both the Horseshoe pass and the Evo Triangle to myself. In fact I spent five minutes taking photos at the top of the Horseshoe pass, stood in the middle of the road and not one car passed me!. Then to top it off I did 2 full laps of the Evo triangle without seeing another car  PERFECT you could not buy it on the UK's congested roads but its what these cars were made for.

The route took me through the Horseshoe Pass, Evo Triangle, Betws-y-Coed, Conway, Llandudno and around Snowdonia, 350 miles of driving pleasure.

EVO Triangle info

A few pics from the top of the Horseshoe Pass:

So I was just driving and accerlating about 40 to 65 and at the end of accelerating, my check engine light came on :(. So I went to auto zone to get my car checked with a scanner(free). And so It came up with this, btw the guy got the results and pretty much said "I Have no idea what this is".

Here are results

Definition : Catalsyt efficiency bank 1
Explanation: Faulty Catalytic Converter
Probable cause:
Rich air/Fuel Ratio
High Fuel Pressure
Ignition or Fuel Injector Fault

So My friend was guessing it was a spark plug misfire since it happened when I was accelerating. Any Help would be greatly appreciated or tips or what steps I should be taking.

I was thinking of replacing cat all the way to the tail. (pun intended)

Which is best for the wallet?

It's slightly larger than the stock piece, and our cars have less clearance from the elbow to shock tower compared to the E46.

As we all know, M Coupe owners have great taste in cars :). Some of the more fortunate owners also have or have had other cool cars in their garage. While my passion is for M Coupes, I appreciate a wide variety of cars and am always interested in how the coupe compares to other performance cars. A couple people I have talked to recently have given me great, in depth comparisons on their cars, and they are just too good and informative to not share with everyone else. This new article category will feature comparisons of the M Coupe with other performance vehicles as described by the cars' owners. If you have the privilege of having owned other performance cars besides you coupe, please share your comparisons with me in this thread, through PM or at mcoupe@jrmartin.com and I’ll post them on my site. It doesn't have to be anything fancy or in depth. Photos are always very welcome too! Thanks everyone!
Can the S54 last past 200,000 reliably with proper maintenance?

So... my bro crashed my M roadster. The short story is was driving on a side road when he looked down for just a second, then looked up and there was a dog a few feet infront of him center of the car. He tried to dodge the dog to reduce the amount of damage to the car and maybe save the dogs life as well. The dog was not struck at all!! Well he ended up loosing control of the car spinning it into a curb and ripping off the drivers side of the front bumper and bending the lower radiator support thus damaging the condensor and condensor fan, min damage imo and he is fine. I told him not to worry its just a car and I am glad he was able to avoid injury and hitting the dog.

So now I am looking for bumper options I rememeber seeing some nice aftermarket bumpers but can't seem to locate them again. I want something that is aggresive looking and nothing cheap or ricey. Maybe I'll snag a hardtop while she is down for repairs to make it worth while.

OK, she is the queen of the garage, gets out once a week or so for a drive, maybe 2500 miles per year, and I started taking her for granted.

I have spent my spare time over the past week getting her cleaned up for Zfest, which happens to be about 10 miles from my house.

Pulling the HRE wheels, cleaning them inside and out, cleaning the TCKline suspension and the wheel wells. Cleaning and waxing her gorgeous body.

All of this has re-kindled my appreciation for both her inner and outer beauty. I love things that are well made. I am impressed all over again with the quality and workmanship, the classic lines, no pretense at being a practical vehicle.

Good golly I do love her so........
