I'm not sure if this is a majorly newb-ish question, but I will be installing my Ingalls "Stiffy" Engine Torque Damper soon on my 350Z, and would like to know how to torque the nuts on the damper according to manufacturer's specifications. I am used to torqueing bolts/nuts from the top with my torque wrench, but these will require the use of an open-ended wrench.

Take a look at page 3 of this pdf to see what the damper looks like if you're not familiar, and also take a quick read through the instructions to see what I mean http://www.ingallseng.com/Instructions/93035.pdf

What do i do!? :help

Thanks so much for any information

You need a crows foot. It's open ended and attaches to the torque wrench similar to how a socket would attach.

Remember your torque wrench will read wrong if you put the crowsfoot on straight, because in effect you'll be adding length to the torque wrench and will have more leverage, in turn giving you a bad reading. There is a formula to correct for the added length but can't remember it off the top of my head. If you put it on a 90 degree angle, you won't be able to ratchet though like you normally would, but won't be adding any "length" to the torque wrench, and will be able to do it acuratley still.

Im not sure about that. Leaving the force constant, additional length will cause additional torque, yes, but the torque wrench settings are based on the torque in the ratchet head, not a force application to the handle. So, if you increase the torque arm, it just requires less force to reach the applicable torque, and the wrench still "clicks" at the same torque application.

This is the wrench set. There is no extension in length really, which causes me to think there will be no difference in torque.
