zymol FTW...still need claybar tho- :eyecrazy:)
MrNorwall 05-08-2008, 10:27 PM claybar goes first before wax, 6 hours to wax, i can do a coat in 17 min record!
Looks really clean tho nice work!
ESMcBlurM3 05-08-2008, 10:29 PM what was the process?
technics 05-08-2008, 10:38 PM meguire soap and suds, zymol cleaner wax, zymol finishing wax-
claybar'd 3 mo's ago, but due. I know clay'n before wax'n thanks tho!
just shar'n the shinny pics
Haywire 05-08-2008, 10:38 PM DANG, thats hot shit dude.... well done. wanna come do mine lol.
CoupeChick 05-08-2008, 10:40 PM Looks great, but without doing the claybar step, you basically pushed around contaminants in the clearcoat. Always important to have a clean base before polishing, waxing, etc.
technics 05-08-2008, 10:45 PM thanks fellas!
ps, it'll be clay'd in a couple of weeks again! :D

M3Cosmos 05-08-2008, 11:25 PM Which Zymol did you use? Looks amazing btw.
ttkid06 05-09-2008, 12:55 AM i like. Does that black wet look only appear on black color cars after waxing or other colors too?
E36Eric 05-09-2008, 01:21 AM Wait, you washed your car, did a coat of cleaner wax and finishing wax and it took you 6 hrs? Were you high? Nice job tho.
JoshVette 05-09-2008, 01:23 AM No offense, the car looks great, but it's all after the sun's gone down and anything can look really shiny with the proper lighting or lack there of.....
Do you have any pics of the car in full sun light or something similar?

Looks great but this is very true which many people still don't seem to grasp.
In any case, darker colors tend to look the deepest and wettest as opposed to lighter colors.
carfenattic 05-09-2008, 09:29 AM I heard that every time you use a claybar you wear down your clearcoat. I only use a claybar if I have overspray or when absolutely neccessary. I use Flash liquid paste wax and it has a cleaner in it. It is usually strong enough to remove any contaminates that are in the clearcoat. But, I also keep so much wax on my 323I, that nothing stands a chance on sticking to the car. Take care.
Joe
Jean-Claude 05-09-2008, 09:38 AM Clay is not hard enough to wear down clearcoat. It could push around a portion of dirt and create micro scratches though.
KenAllen08 05-09-2008, 09:43 AM 6 hrs?
evistor 05-09-2008, 09:45 AM what does clay'd mean??? that car looks slippery.
Ryan328i 05-09-2008, 11:20 AM Looks good although the lighting helps. 6 hours just to wash and wax? I take my time but wow...
