View Full Version : Ground Control hiring in Nor Cal
Hellabad 05-08-2008, 08:17 PM Ground Control Suspension in Shingle Springs is adding to the staff, and we are looking for somebody else like us. We are all car enthusiasts, we work hard and enjoy building really cool stuff for our customers. We turn up the radio, we barbecue at lunch, and go to the racetrack on the weekend.
Every day is different than the next, and most jobs are custom made. There are guys here who can weld, who can machine on the lathe, and prototype custom parts on race or street cars. We need one more.
Here are some of the qualities that help you get a job with us:
Enthusiasm for making the very best parts possible. Ideas to improve on what we have. The drive to be on time and make sure our customers are ecstatic when they open their packages from Ground Control. Attention to detail is a must. (very important here)
Please email resume and references, or fax to (530)677-9090
This is Full time, 8-5, M-F. Benefits available after trial period.
no drugs, no stealing.
email to "support@ground-control.com"
Thanks for looking, I figure I'll try this venue to see if we can get another good person.
Thanks, Jay Morris

MSFIT 05-08-2008, 08:42 PM Is it up by petaluma?
e90dTm 05-08-2008, 08:53 PM No, it's near Folsom. Folsom is about an hour away from me. I would love to work with other car/bmw enthusiasts. I'm going to send a resume to Ground Control. The drive won't matter to me if the job is a blast and worth it.

(E.G. what you're looking for in a candidate) If so, please PM me with your contact info or email me at jerobinet@gmail.com.

Hellabad 05-09-2008, 12:51 PM why kind of qualifications are you guys looking for?
We need one or more people, because we are an impasse where we are being held back by a shortage of people. Qualifications? I have hired some of most horrible employees ever who have had a fantastic diploma, but the best mechanic I ever had is self taught and regrettably just joined the Air Force.
So a qualification to work here is likely not going to be a piece of paper.
We need a BMW oriented "phone guy". This is our name for Tech Support, but we intentionally have the phone guys do other jobs because it helps them and the customer. An example is that sometimes the phone guys assemble the sway bar kits, this makes it a whole lot easier to help someone on the phone who has never installed a sway bar before.
We could also use a very good mechanic. We do not work on cars here (for profit) but for Research and Development, and the guys who usually do that are busy with kit development and welding right now.
I could also use an internet/website update/internet store person. I am overwhelmed, and we are definitely under-utilizing our resources. (camberplate.com, shortshifter.com, coilover.com)
I am not the actual person who does the hiring, although I definitely have veto power. You would actually be dealing with Mark.
Any emails sent are swapped back and forth between Mark and I, and the other guys here actually have a bit of a say-so also.

If you went to Golden Sierra High, I'm gonna know all about you in 5 minutes. Same thing if you went to Ponderosa or Union Mine. If you went to Oak Ridge, I'm not gonna hire you.
