Hey Guys, i installed a sony deck into a friends camry and everything worked fine... lights, display. Then when i went to put it in the dash, i heard a liitle sound , maybe a fuse. Well the display went out, it still turns on and it opens and closes, but no display and the clock thats built for the car went out also. Maybe its a loose wire or fuse. anyone have any ideas. i know its not a bimmer..... so any advice would help. Thanks Chad

yup....probably a 10A fuse in the fusebox for the car accessories or radio, whichever is says...even if u LOOK at the fuse and it looks good still take it out and try another one of the same size...at times a fuse loks good and is not....u have a live wire thats not insulated...i would wager that u have a amp remote turn on wire or some other similar wire that has the stock rubber boot and u didnt tape it or maybe not properly....something like that happend...do NOT put a new fuse in until u take the radio back out and check all wires...pay special attention to the wire u connected the RED wire of the radio to.....

Thanks Kevin, i'm going to rewire everything tomarrow and then we'll see from there. is there a certain color wire that connects the deck to the car wiring that makes the display work? i assume there is.

doubt it...usually cd players will work if the battery lead is connected but not the accessories lead(which sometimes also powers clocks and other things in the car)...this is so u can eject a CD when the ignition is off but u cant reinsert it, etc....
