Does the grey color actually look grey in person, or does it have that beige undertone it does in pictures?

Example[ borrowed from someone on zpost.com, if you want it removed please let me know]

imho, sterling grey is one of the best colors for the z4

i think it looks pretty grey in person, mine's sterling grey

unfortunately, i don't think they have that option anymore on the newer models

I planned on staying away from grey due to what i have seen in pictures, but after my post i found better pictures and it clearly has no beige undertone to it.

Im looking used so im all set!

That picture is off colorwise. My Coupe is Gray and looks nothing like that. You can tell how warm the color is yellow pushed by looking a the asphalt and sky.

Burt, your car is a different gray. The car above (one of JackB1's cars, iirc) is Sterling Gray, which is the color used in all the catalog and advertising photos - it's a dark gray with a blue cast to it. Space Gray and Silver Gray, which replaced it, are lighter.

Here is a pic of my old Sterling Grey. It depends on the lighting.

My car is Silver Grey (discontinued) and it looks blue in some lights. Both me and my wife see it.

After seeing better pictures, and on my way in to work today i got to see a coupe in grey, i actually like the color alot. It also seems like a color that hide dirt well, so the week after a carwash it still looks clean, unlike some black colors.

Oh- okay. The color balance of the photo is still off though but with all the sterling photos now posted I am sure he gets the picture.

Thanks for the info:)

Thats my 2003,(which I sold) I really loved that color. It had a brown undertone to it also (Sterling Grey). There is also a grey with green undertone that I saw for the first time at homecoming last year. Now my new 2007 with Deep Metalic Green has a black undertone. Everyone who see's it fom a distance swears it's black! Good luck in your search!:redspot

Stratus Grey is the current dark grey that replaced Sterling Grey (at least is was on the 07's and I think it's still available on the 08's) which is a somewhat muddy or beige grey in bright sunlight but takes on a blueish tone in overcast (like this morning, when I was out washing my 07 Coupe.)

Actually, it's JBZ4's 2003 Z4 2.5 that he sold and what is "iirc"?
