View Full Version : Car detail question around milwaukee
evistor 05-07-2008, 09:53 AM Hey guys.
I;m trying to get a car detail job done pretty soon and was wondering where to go.
Does the Dealership wusually do a good job?? (Concours, IA)
Or should I go to a detail specialist??
I remeber doing a detail job on my other car around national ave. and they did a horrible job for 200. I thought they just painted the interior with oil...
Any recommendations where i can make my car (especially the interior) brand new??
thanks
p.s I've seen the thread thats parked but need more info
StealthBimmer 05-07-2008, 10:23 AM I take my cars to a local place in waukesha, cost i believe 100-150 for full int and exterior and they do an awesome job.
SkewedView 05-07-2008, 01:04 PM Hey evistor, what's the name of the place that was so crappy?
I just set up an appointment with Tender Car (Bay View area) for their Black Tie detail service. They look pretty good according to their website, and the owner, Jon, is a real nice guy. I'll post an update on the result next week.

I thinks it was that place... i remeber black tie..
in my case, this high school kid did the detailing and i don;t think it was worth 200.
IT might be different now since that was couple years go..
lmk.
BrewCity11 05-08-2008, 03:13 PM I used to work at Sir Waxer on HWY 100 and Coldspring. Pretty nice place.
Won't make your jaw drop, but good work nonetheless.

tsweers89 05-11-2008, 04:50 PM Id recommend Infinti Northshore. Right across from Concours. there to service is like $260. But its a very thourow and great job. I currently work there as a tech since i quite Enterprise motorcars and she has been doing it for over 15yrs and does everything to the T. She acts like every car that comes in is hers.
SkewedView 05-12-2008, 10:29 AM Update on the Black Tie (full interior/exterior) detail job from Tender Car: They did a great job. My car wasn't all that bad to begin with, but I'm really happy with how they took care of the swirls in the paint, and the interior looks like new again. :alright
Highly recommended.

How much was it? Did you make an appointment? How long did it take? Where is tender car?
Post the details in the recommended service shops thread.

Please!! Pics!!
And do you know the name who actually did the work done??
SkewedView 05-12-2008, 05:50 PM Tender Car is on KK, just north of Bay View. (Their website is tendercar.com.) I had made an appointment, yes, about a week in advance. The service I received, their "Black Tie" full interior/exterior detailing, goes for $199 and took about eight hours. Not sure who did the actual service, as they have quite a few employees.
I have a couple of halfway decent pics, but I'll have to see about hosting... what site do you recommend?
SkewedView 05-12-2008, 06:36 PM Update: I've posted some pics in the recommended service shops thread, as requested.

+1 for Tender Car. I used them last year before I put my car into storage...just their basic wash and wax. It was good. Just got my car back from them again for the first "real wash" of the season (went with their Diamond Gloss detail) and it came out great! I am very pleased with the results and plan on having them do some PDR soon in the near future as well. Apparently the other half of their building is a paint/body type shop that does the work.
And I even trusted them enough to drive my car back to my house since I was busy all day doing other things. I was suprised I even gave the ok to tell you the truth, but after talking with the owner (also a BMW owner) I figured why not. Car got back better then when I dropped it off! :alright Nothing stolen, or broken. Grade A service if you ask me.
MrEvoMan 05-31-2008, 05:17 AM I have to recommend my good friend Brett.
He started working for a detail shop at the age of 15. And let me tell you, you know how it can be that a job picks you based on your style and personality? This guy is so over the top anal retentive, it's not even funny! But guess what? That makes the worlds most perfect detailer.
Now that he's a little older, he now OWNS the detail business that he worked for when he was young and his style has not changed at all. He daily works on cars the like of Ferrari's and other high end exotics.
One thing to even give you an idea of what you'll get: when he vaccumes your carpet, he makes sure it leaves little triangles from the carpet all laying in the proper direction. He also uses waxes like zymol (if you want), which are some of the highest rated waxes available.
Having worked in the car industry for a number of years, I can say without a doubt, he's by far the best detailer I've ever seen.
His shop info is:
Diamond Brite Auto Detailing
W63n132 Washington Ave, Cedarburg, WI
(262) 376-9900
His name is Brett.
If you tell him that Bryan sent you, he'll take good care of you. As soon as I get back in town with my new e36, I'm having him do a complete detail/buff job.
MKEMotorwerks 06-03-2008, 03:54 PM My girl details all the cars that i buy and sell... does a pretty damn good job too. Every time i drive them after she cleans them out all nice i wish my car was that clean. She goes thro with carpet stain remover for any crap in the carpet, uses armor all cleaner for all the plastic/vynal, uses leather conditioner on the seats, windows, washes outside, scrubs the rims... all that good stuff... Im sure shed be more than happy to do em for like $100. Spends a few hours on each one. Shoot us an email or a call if anyone wants to try out her work.
M3Esprit 06-15-2008, 04:54 PM I discovered a pricey, but good detailer the other day. I haven't had a full detail done, but I've had the car hand washed ($25). Nice work. I'll probably go back for a full detail later.
I believe the owner, Saul Rivera, used to be the lead detailer at Concours. Seems like a good guy...he let me borrow his personal truck to go get a cup of coffee while he worked on my M3. There were several nice cars awaiting details...including a S-Class Benz and a mid-'60s Vette.
North Shore's Finest Auto Detailing

According to the brochure, Saul charges $175 for a basic detail & $235 including paint sealant & leather treatment.
sachin528 06-16-2008, 01:04 AM I forgot to add - Zinovi does detailing as well as body works. I have not had a detail done there, but I know the owner and have seen the shop and have no doubt that they do quality work.
tortexal 06-23-2008, 02:00 PM What kind of detailing do you need done? theres a huge huge huge difference between wash wax/interrior cleaning and doing actual paint correction. "detailing" can take from an hour up to days to complete as it depends on what you're doing.
huge variety of products to choose from when doing a car. This was my business for quite a while and actually thought about starting it back up again last night. let me know if you have questions etc
