You are looking at a rare British classic that you will have great trouble finding on the roads. I am posting this for my father because he is ready to sell it and tired of my mother complaining about it taking up garage space.
- 1968 MGC GT, ORIGINAL California car, LESS THAN 4000 MADE
- Don't be fooled by the newer white plates. We still have the classic BLUE plates for the car, unfortunately my dad forgot to register it many years back and the blue plates expired
- My father is the second owner, he bought it in 1977
- Garaged ever since
- Black on Black
- 61,249 Original Miles
- 4 Speed Manual with Overdrive
- ORIGINAL 72-spoke chrome wire wheels, RARE
The 3-liter inline 6 is still strong and still has the gobs or torque it had off the lot. For those who aren't aware, this is the same engine found in the famous Austin Healey 3000.
We have lived on Mulholland Hwy for nearly 30 years, and this vehicle gets looks from people on the street and honks and waves from fellow enthusiasts who understand the rarity of this car.
Most noteworthy, the car collector and Tonight Show host JAY LENO, HIMSELF, saw my father park the car across the street from the popular Rock Store hangout, left the conversation he was having, and walked over to my father and complimented him on the car. Had my father been selling it, he was likely interested in buying it.
This is a rust free body that has to be seen in person to appreciate. He has had some work done on it in the last few months. Im not exactly sure what has been replaced, but I do know it has a 6-volt to 12-volt battery conversion.
This car has tons of character. From the solid metal bumpers, to the classic wire wheels, and the small hood bulge accommodating the dual carbs, these make the MGC stand out from the mass produced MGB.
EDIT: $20,000 OBO
This was his asking price he told me to post. He is negotiable, but will not settle for much less, nor should he. I have seen run-of-the-crop MGB's go for $15,000+. This car is well worth the money and he is in no hurry to sell the car.
Please don't waste his time lowballing him and please be a serious buyer. If you set a date to check the car out, please do your best to follow through, or call if you can't make it.
