I bought this 99 Audi A6 back in November. I love the car, great fun to drive, handles like nothing else, and a monster in the snow.

I've always liked to keep my car clean, and I've encountered the typical black car problems with this car, (In that it always looks dirty). Even when it is clean however, it still looks like crap. The paint appears almost faded, and the road rash across the front is just horrible. Is there anything I can do to try and erase some of the road rash, and brighten her up? My dad buffed the car a week or so ago, but the buffer left some pretty bad swirls/marks in the paint. What can I do?

those white specs are chips, nothing u can do about those except maybe us a black wax to mask them a little bit. repaint is your only option. as for you dad buffing the car, if he left swirls that's because he's inexperienced with a buffer. big mistake. get it done professionally or do it right.

You could possible srtip the car again. Then use a glaze like poorboys black hole. PB BH is a cleaner, so it will brighten it up a little and a filler glaze. So it will ease up on the swirls and fill the scratches a touch.

Follow this up with a sealer.

Try the Dr. Colorchip road rash kit - it'll take a while but should work pretty well to hide that rash (got good results on my Black Sapphire Metallic).

Check this thread out from autopia.org, you can see what a pro can do with a beaten exterior. This guy has some serious talent, but there are guys out there who can get this level of correction from a car. The chips will have to be painted, fill em in yourself for much less than a respray, if you've got the time. If you've got the cash, spray.
