Will e36 M3 mirrors fit the e34? Or do I need to find m5 mirrors??

they won't. the actual mirror is the same, but the bases are different. m3 mirrors connect with one bolt, while m5 mirrors connect with 3 bolts. and you cannot buy the bases only. this is due to the high amount of stolen m mirrors.

why not go for the acs mirrors?

Rob,

The reason that I'm asking about the mirrors is that I can find the Damn ACS mirrors anywhere. If you can help with this I would be greatful. Other wise what style M mirrors fit and where can I get the M style mirrors....

I finally get my baby back tomorrow. I'll snap some shots and post them. Oh ya Rob if you remember I was taking about the engine swap...need to make some corrections.....The engine is a 95 M3 ODB I engine not the S3.2. The engine will be finished around the first week in July. But in the mean time I pick up some 95 e36 M3 cams to drop in. found a pair on ebay for $350.00. My head gasket on the 2.5 in leaking on #6 so when I do the gasket I'll be replacing the cams to....Wondering if there will be much of a difference...

not sure where you could get those acs mirrors. sorry.

m-tech mirrors off m5, 540i m-sport, and m540i will fit. www.nikis-place.com has originals and german made replicas. still pretty damn pricey. i was lucky to get mine off a wrecked 540i m-sport.

nice price for the cams. don't you have to run custom software for the m3 cams? i'm looking into this mod as well.

Hey waz up Shragon. Long time no talk. :-) Hey "thedogger" you can get m3 mirrors at www.fknorthamerica.com . The e34 base plate is only $16 and the mirrors, the price ranges are from $59.95 to $300. Depending on if you want manual, heated or other options. I just ordered mine yesterday for my e32 with the e34 base plate. I will let you know how the quality is.

Rob,

My 2.5L will be in the car for about another 1 or 2 months and the #6 has a slight leak. So I'm going to replace the gasket so why not the cams. Which is suppose to be a good upgrade but costly. So since I was able to get the cams cheap and have to replace the gasket why not. As of right now I only have a Turner chip in the car. So along with the CAMS I will have a custom chip made buy a local shop here in Sac www.schatzandkrum.com (http://). I would also like to try and find a cold air to add to this. So I'll see how this all does. So if I can keep from get run into and my car out of the shop I'll be down to one of the bay meets.

I just ordered mine yesterday for my e32 with the e34 base plate. I will let you know how the quality is.

Let me know how the mirros look! PICS OK

I've heard good things about the M3 cams in the M50TU- The cost is in the labor. Tearing down the top end in the VANOS motors is a pain.

I saw a dyno of a cam swap done the same time as a fan delete, with software of course. I think HP was up in the 220s.

The dyno link is broken now...I was looking around for it last week. I think I'll post about it in the E36 forum.

hey PersianM3, it's been a long time. post pics of the mirrors when you get them done!

brian, yea, it seems like from time to time you can pic up some used m3 cams for a fairly decent price. i was just wondering about the software. seems like most of the e36 guys are running custom software by conforti. wondering if conforti would be able to reprogram my current conforti chip?

abakos, an e36 had it done here in the bay area at dyno spot racing. 5 hours labor @ $85/hr, so $425. most shops in the bay area are charging closer to $95-100/hr (ouch!).

guess i'll do some more research on this subject.

Rob,

The chip that you have should be able to be flashed again and again.....It would be up to the shop. Maybe they would charge a small fee!

I have driven some cars that Schatz and Krum have chipped and they seem stronger than the Turner that I have. Stuart claim that there is still room to grow on the turner chip..but they keep it tuned down because most people don't pay attention to gas.

It's pretty kool I watch him program a chip for a M3 on the dyno...Actually was getting worried as he started to redline it.........kept thinking that the engine was going to blow

brian,

does Schatz and Krum flash the stock chip, or the conforti/turner chip?

how much do you think Schatz and Krum would charge to install m3 cams in the e34?

thanks,
rob

Rob,

Schatz & Krum Labor rates are $60-$65 an hr. As far as I know evryone that has ever had mods there is more than happy with the results. They are going to do the head gasket and cams for $900.00 and write a new chip as part of the repair.....

As far as the conforti/turner chip I beleive he can flash it.

I'll call and let you know!
