Is this a non-issue that shouldn't bother me? The one thing about the E9x series that continues to bother me is the run flats. If there were room in the trunk for a spare I'd just drive the run flats until they needed changing, then replace them with "normal" tires with a spare to throw in the trunk. Since there is no spare tire compartment in the trunk I'd like to get one of those small spares that are only made to go a couple thousand miles or so, but I don't know if they're available for the BMW 3-series. Has anybody bought a spare for this car?

My wife seems to pick-up a lot of nails (trolling construction sites looking for men), so staying with the run flats . If it was my car, I opt for the kit and regular tires.

I think that is what I'm looking for. And it'll fit the E9x cars, huh? Thank's for the link.
EDIT: And it looks like I put this in the wrong place. Frankly, until this was moved I'd never noticed the tire forum. In fact, a quick search revealed this topic having been already covered in the tire forum. Sorry. N00b mistake...:banghead:

No problem. Now that you know the tire section exists, you know where to post, you get better response and I have less work to do moving posts :), gotta love win/win. :buttrock

You can also check out this thread - I bought a full sized matching wheel and tire. It takes up a lot of room in the trunk, but i don't think it takes up that much more than the space saving one and has lots of advantages over the space saver one.
