I noticed in another thread that someone used Forever Black to color their rock guards from gray to black. The picture looked very nice. I have an Alpine White 325i with gray underneath both bumpers and gray rock guards; even though I want to keep my car as stock as possible, the matching of rock guards to the trim interests me.

Does anyone have any first hand experience with "painting" the side skirts and lips with Forever Black? How did it turn out?

Secondly, does anyone have any idea what it takes to remove Forever Black in the event that the job turns out crappy?

Many thanks for any help.

I used it on my trim and such, and it worked nicely. I even spilled some down the side and I panicked, but it wiped off fine with a little work. It turned the 10+ year old panel/bumper trim from a faded gray to dark black. Probably one of the most effective ways to make a car look new-er. I say go for it, it can't hurt.

my 325 and now my m3 have all had painted bumpers etc but on the moldings i've used bumper spray paint to freshen them up and it lasts so much longer than back to black or forever black only b/c its paint. it's probably harder to do only because you'll have to mask off parts of the car but it's so worth it; my moldings are black now for over 6 months instead of 6 weeks like with back to black etc...
