I thought this would make for a cool picture. It's at the local German sausage kitchen. It's the coolest place ever. I want to go back and get a better picture as this one is kind of blurry, but whatever.

hey by the way do you guys see how the glovebox is open? thats cause theres no catch thingy for the latch to go into. i looked online like everywhere and i cant seem to find one so can anyone help me out or tell me where i could find one?

That is probably something you get from either the dealer (expensive and will probably have to come from Germany) or you can probably find one at the junk yard. Maybe someone on the forum has one???

Should have a mirror there, I don't know why it wouldn't. Are your mirrors powered? Some e21s (like mine) have 2 power adjustable mirrors, some only have a driver side power mirror, but there should still be a passenger side mirror.

Again check a junk yard, or see if anyone on the forum has one for sale.

Just some friendly advice. I know you get excited cause it's your first car, but try to not to piss everyone here off by making posts all over the place. Maybe just make one thread and post all of your questions in that, so that we can help you. Also try to search before you ask. I do understand sometimes it's hard to find an answer.

We are an awesome community, and this is almost like our own separate forum. We are kind of secluded from the rest of bimmerforums, because everyone forgets about us. That's a good thing though. So just try to keep it cool because some of the guys on here get a little aggravated by all the questions. I think they forget what it's like to get your first car, and what it's like when you are first learning how to fix it.

Definitely pick up a Haynes manual.

Ebay and craigslist will become your favorite online shopping sites. Glove boxes pop up on the Bay about every week or you could come up with your own solution.

My 79 that's going to the crusher has no passenger mirror, that mirror must have been an option back in the day...

My new 79 has the mirror..my 78 had the mirror. Cheap bastards who bought the car new only ordered one mirror is my guess.
