This is a general posting. I am 6'4" with 13 wide shoes.
I autox primarily and set a 1995 M3 for SCCA STU. I had Mustangs before and built an intense Camaro (slicks, roll cage, 14:1 compression engine, etc). Too loud, too big and not able to run with fun in the ever growing smaller courses. After enjoying my 525 with sports suspension I bought a '95 M3 and had a Bimmer shop experienced in suspension set it up. Jim Conforti intke system, 255x40x17 wheels/tires make the car run and handle well. Problem is my feet overlap and I left foot brake, a strong habit difficult to stop.
The two Camaros were automatic, and the one Mustang I modified the pedals. Any one had experience modifying "successfully" the pedals? I have a race seat in and my longer hip to knee thigh is an issue too.
I have tried many positions on the seat and just seem to struggle on comfort in driving the car, even with smaller, narrow race shoes. Street shoes are dangerous as I have pushed on the brake and still hit throttle. I have to be about "perfect" in the seat to just drive the pedals correctly.
The floor space just seems limiting. Any suggestions.
