How can I disable self-level? Thanks! To disable properly, you must replace the shocks/springs and spring mounts. You can get replacement kits on the net. If you just disable the pump, the whole thing may well sag too much. Bluesman 05-02-2008, 06:04 PM You need to buy a set of shocks and springs, I am not sure about spring mounts I would if you are switching and have everything apart, anyway remove any existing fluid from the well in the trunk. Then jackup car and remove existing shocks and actuators attached to the wheel wells. you will have what appears to be brake lines going from those same actuators back by the differential. Those can now be capped off or removed. Mine were bone dry so I just secured them to the subframe and left them. Replace the springs and shocks and your ready to go. Since my shocks and springs were already a set when I bought them when I did the job the whole thing took less than two hrs by myself. And yes as GWL said do not just disable the pump you will then be half a lowrider. If you have questions please feel free to PM me. I have done shocks and struts on three of my sixes. kcopes 05-02-2008, 10:15 PM I have somewhat of the same problem; however, my suspension sags because it leaks. A quick way to pump it back up is playing with the fuse that controls the SLS. Just take the fuse out, or put it back in, I cant rememeber which, when you have a level that you like. |
