Hey all. Took my black 1988 M6 down to Sharkfest in Winston Salem, NC, returning Sunday. Many of you saw the car at CSP last year, which since got a new interior with I did over the winter, euro headers and an entirely scrubed and cleaned underchasis. Three classes, clean, very clean and concours. I took concours and an unbeleivable trophy. Pic is of the same trophy, very clean class. Frankly nobody dared enter concours to compete against a woman from VG who has an inpecable 6 (and two alpinas) and never loses, but I took the challenge.

Check out roadfly e24 baord if you want to see a ton of pics of 6's - what might be one of the prettiest cars bmw ever built.

That's awesome! Congrats!

Where did you end up getting her detailed? And just so everyone knows, this man isn't scared to run it...he dyno'ed it with us.

I was going to use Alex, was all set met, checked his excellent references and was very impressed. However, I stopped in to see my friend who is an enthusiest and owns first acura in Seekonk. He comes out drooling over the car, I mention detailing and going to Alex. He's like, "you have to use this guy I have do it. He is the very best, custom mixes waxes including marine products and acrylics, and came to Newport from Manhattan Motorcars doing Rolls Royces and the like...left NYC after 9/11 and ended up here. He's now on his own, he gets him on line, Brian says "I hired him after letting him show me what he could do". The guy can talk, lays it on a little thick if you will, but accepted the referal was quite pleased. In fact one of his clients is like president of espn and suposedly now wins shows having never did before using this guy...In fact, my wife and I both overheard the judges doing the body of the car when finished walk away saying the car was "surgically clean". Now that's a new one to me, I think I get some of that credit though after weeks of prep. It helped to have a 24v impact wrench and floor jack (back of wheels and wheel wells all part of the judging) - was so cool preping and non-entrants walking by and saying "this guy is nuts". Was then the talk of the town at the barbecue that night, tons of people heard that sweet sound of the lug nuts coming off - and figured it must have been me. So where is Kimball Farms?

And yes, I enjoy playing with it. If it were some 40k mile showpiece like the one I beat and it was all about selling some day, it wouldn't get the appropriate mods. She has a MAF kit from Miller Performance, euroheaders, high flow cats ...and the E34 cams (same as the euro version of this car) in a few weeks.

Most everyone thought I was in the upholstery business after learning that I did the interior.

Kimball Farms is in Westford, MA. There's a meet there in the summer, where a whole bunch of BMWs show up.
