When I first got my car and brought it through emissions their OBD2 reader couldn't read my computer. This worked for me since my aftermarket cats set a CEL.
My OBD-2 scanner works fine with my car, but when I went to use my peak tool to reset my oil service light, it wouldn't reset it. Odd, I thought.
That's when I noticed that as soon as I plugged in the scanner the tool had power, and the key was not on. I was not expecting there to be power until the key was on.
Same thing for resetting my airbag light, since I used to have aftermarket seats the light was on. Put the seats back in and went to clear it, the tool was giving me an error.
In looking at troubleshooting for the tool, it talks about turning power off and on via the key. Obviously this does jack shit for my car since power is always on.
So, the only thing that I can think of that's been messed with is the aftermarket software (Eurobahn). But to me the only way to accomplish power being on all the time would be wiring.
So any ideas?
