Nice looking Baur. But it isn't a 323i: it's a 320i.

Sebby2390 06-09-2008, 01:58 PM good luck with sellin it at that price
joshw02 06-09-2008, 02:56 PM Let's see.. It looks like it's got a six in that engine compartment to me.. So wouldn't that make it a 323i as stated and not a 320i? Look at the pics before you make a comment.. Also for those that aren't interested in this guys car and think the price is to high keep you comments to your self..It so lame to knock someone's price or car if you have no interest in it.The car is worth what someone will or will not pay for it.. And free bump for what looks like a pretty clean semi rare euro car from Colorado.. Good luck..
So wouldn't that make it a 323i as stated and not a 320i?
I think Jeroen was just trying to set the record straight and I don't think his intentions were to take away from the sale. He has a genuine interest in all things "Baur" and dedicates a lot of his free time to run the Baur Registry. Just to add to everyone's knowledge, the e30 came in many different forms in Europe, kinda like a "build your own pizza" thing.
They were available with these engines
1.5L inline 4
1.6L inline 4
1.8L inline 4
2.0L inline 6
2.3L inline 6
2.5L inline 6
So the 320i we got here in the e21 was always the M10 4cyl. Many of these variations made it to the US and especially the M20, but since the dealer network was very much against selling Euro parts to our dealers, the owner's of euro model e30s would swap the US spec M20 (2.5) into their cars. My Baur had that same swap and it is very common. It could be that this car's motor was swapped as well. If not, as per the vin# it is a 320i with a 2.0L M20.

Any pics of your Baur to share?
@RonP; that's correct. Every spare minute goes into "Baur", my car, my website or finding more new cars for my registry.
@Josh: this car was sold new in Germany. But now I ask you: why didn't you use the link (e34.de/vin) I gave and checked it yourself? Try to remember that only 7 Baur TC's were sold in the USA, so that most of the Baur's in the USA are made to European specs.
These engines where delivered in Europe:
316: 1.8 Carbs -'87 (M10) 4 cilinders 100hp
316i: 1.6 Injection '87- (M40) 4 cilinders 100hp
318i: 1.8 Injection -'87 (M10)/'87- (M40) 4 cilinders 118hp
318iS: 1.8 Injection, 16 valves '88- (M43) 4 cilinders 136hp
320i: 2.0 Injection (M20) 6 cilinders 129hp
320iS: 2.0 Injection '87 (S14) 4 cilinders (specially for Italy, Spain) 192hp
323i: 2.3 Injection '82-'86 (M20) 6 cilinders 150/143hp
325i: 2.5 Injection '86-'92 (M20) 6 cilinders 171/170hp
325e: 2.5 Injection, low compression '84-'87 (M20) 6 cilinders 129/122hp
M3: 2.3 Injection, 16 valves (S14) 4 cilinder 200/215hp
