View Full Version : To the M3 driver who threw a bottle at a Mercedes today
dysphunxion 04-26-2008, 05:38 PM When I run your plate on Monday, you are so supremely done it's not even funny.
For everyone else...
87 south, not far past 84, headed back toward the city I pass a black e46 M3 with DTM, UUC, bimmerforums, and other stickers in the back driver side window. Excited to see a bfc sticker I immediately slow down and wave. The guy responds by goosing the throttle and then flooring it. I chuckle to myself and take off after him. After I pass him, I slow back down to make eye contact and he throws a bottle at me. What the hell is that? Did the girl snicker or are you just that much of a sore loser?
bellavus 04-26-2008, 06:02 PM that is so incredibly lame.
silence 04-26-2008, 06:05 PM seriously?
vazqued2 04-26-2008, 06:11 PM What a pansy. Guys like that give BMW drivers a bad reputation.

my take on this possibility
m3maker 04-26-2008, 08:01 PM lol
dysphunxion 04-26-2008, 09:17 PM My passenger wouldn't allow me to chase him down and rip his fingers off, much as I wanted to.
I just let him flee, all the while repeating the casino owner's threat from Ocean's 11 in my head, "Run and hide, asshole. Run and hide."
Not sure what I'm going to do yet. He's just damn lucky that he missed. :az

Throw the same bottle through his house window. (fill with cement)
CleanE34 04-26-2008, 10:09 PM damn that is lame. hopefully you find them and enact your revenge.

MikeVance 04-27-2008, 12:21 AM Heres my question..how do you run someones plate?

Yeah prob...
marc212 04-27-2008, 01:28 AM panzy, who throws a bottle, please tell me like it was a Gatorade and not a glass bottle
MikeVance 04-27-2008, 07:55 AM panzy, who throws a bottle, please tell me like it was a Gatorade and not a glass bottle
either way, they're both equally damaging.
thrilos5 04-27-2008, 10:02 AM that was just plain stupid!
don't worry he already got his punishment:
driving a slow m3 with stickers on it :stickoutt
m3Raleigh 04-27-2008, 10:04 AM post the plate number
Mark850 04-27-2008, 11:13 AM connections with the police, dmv etc etc.
probably some program out there that does it too. If you have a friend who's a Police Officer they'll do it for you..But the drawback is if there's anything on the car they have to pursue it.. Say if they run the plate and it comes back stolen, excessive tickets or whatever they could get in trouble for not acting on the vehicle..I have friends in the N.Y.C. Police and Philly + the A.T.F...I could have it done if something like this happened to me.. And then????????????????:D
dzlnitro 04-27-2008, 11:23 AM wow, that is what i call a cock boy
dysphunxion 04-27-2008, 12:02 PM I already have the owner's info in hand. Appears to be mommy's car.
Registered to a much older, female. Driver was early twenties, maybe even late teens, male. Accompanied by a female passenger of same age.
I am satisfied with the (legal and reasonable) options presented to me and will have no personal involvement in the conclusion.
Thanks for playing, asshole.

What conclusion do you have in mind? Police knocking on his door saying stop throwing bottles?
I still like the idea of throwing a bottle through his window with a note saying "You missed".

I still like the idea of throwing a bottle through his window with a note saying "You missed". Exactly!!! Mommy's gonna take the keys?? He intended to do damage to your car!! Police won't really do anything after the fact..Late night Driveby , bottles away!!! Don't miss..:) One more thing , remove your plate beforehand..You can't run a plate if there's not one there..

You're so e-thug!
So let me get this straight...you were illegally street racing some kid his mom's vehicle, and he threw a bottle at you? I agree that it was a retarded thing to do, but you were being a douche by racing around too. Maybe your friends in the DMV and/or police who are abusing their powers by running plates for unofficial business should lose their jobs as well. Maybe you even work in the DMW or with the police. Maybe you should lose your job for wreckless driving, and invasion of privacy.
Hypocrite. :)

sounds like something a young kid would do. Just be sure to get to his house before the kid totals his mom's car.

Hypocrite. :)When I encountered the M3 and saw the bimmerforums sticker I had no intention of "racing" as you put it. I waved. He took off. I got the feeling that we were stretching the legs a little, a friendly blast down the highway. And/or he wanted to know just how beastly an SL is. He found out, and reacted inappropriately.
As for me and my actions after the fact, I have a unique relationship with the federal government that affords me certain (legal) accommodations. But thank you for your presumptuous comments. I haven't had the desire to use the ignore button in a awhile.

MiniXP 04-28-2008, 07:46 AM Just because the car is registered in his mom's name doesn't mean he didn't pay for it, my car which i bought is registered in my dad's name for insurance purposes.
Also, if you have his address, you can order free boxes from the postal service and have them shipped anywhere, if you know what i mean. They will ship thousands of them if you order them.;)

dysphunxion 04-28-2008, 06:01 PM I don't know. I suppose I should call and find out.
I'm not really all too enthusiastic about participating on this forum anymore. I have a limited amount of daily down time and I really don't care to spend it by being called an "e-thug" by a bunch kids. If people want to argue or debate, even pointlessly, fine. One liner flames, no thanks.

All I see from you in this thread is judging someone for their age, the ownership of the car and for the type of car they drive. Stop being a judgmental douche and understand that shit happens and you can't expect everyone to be as joyful as a rainbow to see a fellow bf.c member DRIVING A MERCEDES.
And no, I am not condoning his actions so don't even try to go there. I can't control him or anyone else. I can only control my own actions and if I were in your place I would shrug it off, make some jokes and move on with my life.
By the way, my mom is on the title of my car, my father bought it, and I alone drive it. It is an E46 and yet I don't act like a douche. So there go all your horrible stereotypes out the window.

Then debate your point:
Why do you feel vigilante justice is warranted?
Legal issues aside, do you think its ethical to use private records for your personal use? You have no authority to use DMV records in any manner. I'm actually just assuming you made that part up about "running plates".
Do you think it's mature thing to do to post threats on an online bulletin board? I think it's a little silly.
Why have you reacted so poorly to anybody that challenged your viewpoint? People are calling you an e-thug because your posting threats with no evidence of backing them up. You either should not post threats, or you should post evidence.
You are calling the people who realize how silly this entire post is "a bunch of kids". Do you think you're acting mature in how you handled the situation? In my opinion, a truly mature adult wouldn't be doing what you're doing.
These aren't flames. It's simply meant to point out the unacceptable way in which your behaving. People don't act like tough guy thugs in real life, unless they are ignorant and/or rednecks. Most people realize this, and are just provoking you on for their own entertainment value. <insert popcorn smiley here>

Before I even created this thread I had determined that this guy was an shithead, not because of his vehicle, not for who owns the vehicle, not even because of his age, but because of his actions. I challenge you to find in this thread where I directly or indirectly state...
M3 driver's are ___.
Anyone who's parent's name is on the title of their car is ___.
Young people are ___.
Shit happens?
Shit happening is a flat tire, ketchup on your tie. Throwing a bottle at a car on the highway is a deliberate, malicious act. A crime against another human being with a reasonable potential to cause harm. My crime of speeding is victimless. I have never caused a car accident or caused any individual person harm through my driving habits. IMO, and in my specific case, it is an act (speeding) with acceptably low potential to cause harm.

Other posters in this thread suggested "returning the favor" by throwing a bottle through the person's window. That, is an act of vigilantism. An act that conflicts with the law. I have acted within the bounds of the law. I called the secret service, was provided with relevant data about the individual to determine if I could assist in identifying him, as it is obviously someone from this forum, of which I have been a member from the beginning, and then left the rest to them. My motivation for pursuing this as far as I did, was not for my own satisfaction, but because someone nearly hit my fiancee in the head with a bottle. I live in NY. Insults, crude gestures, insinuations, I could care less. However, threaten a loved one and you will receive my FULL attention.
Threatening the life of the president is a crime. In a lesser way, I am afforded similar protection. Interfering with or an attempting to assault my person is a federal crime for reasons I will not discuss. Take it, or leave it.
As I said before, I've been a member here for while. My initial threat was an informal way of calling attention to a situation that, understandably, I was less than pleased with. Of course it's still a threat, a threat at large, written by an angry person, on the internet. Boo-hoo. Personally, I thought it was a decent opener. Literary license. E-x-c-u-s-e me.
How have I reacted poorly to anyone who challenges my view point? Did I threaten you? Did I call you names? No, I restated facts in an attempt to help you understand the incident, and then documented my actions for all to see. Simple, direct, over with.
I won't even readdress the "e-thug" and "bunch of kids" comments. It is just too long and boring of a topic. Simply, I was speaking to someone else who has been here a long time and understands the changes the board has undergone. The fact that you are personally insulted by my comments illustrates your misunderstanding. I'm sorry that I made obtuse generalizations that offended you or anyone else, that was not my intention at all. Okay, maybe a little. Damn kids! ;) (attempt at funny, no comment please)
AwesomeIsLuke 04-28-2008, 09:31 PM Vigilante justice?

Verruckt 04-30-2008, 11:31 AM To the OP,
I felt pity for you before, but...
You're a prick. I don't care what "protections" are afforded to you which enable you to use the Secret Service as a tool for your personal means.
If I had the US Army at my disposal to knock down the door and absolutely destroy the house of a person who threw a bottle at my car I wouldn't do it. You know why? because it's abuse of your position, and frankly, it's overkill.
The proper course of action would have been to act like any other civilian in the US and contact the local police and file a report. If they do nothing, well guess what? That's the way the cookie crumbles. If they do something, then you're lucky.
You came across in the opening of this thread as being a victim of a crime, which you were. Now you come across as the power abusive prick that you are that absolutely contributes to the destruction our justice system. Way to be the better person in this situation hotshot.
seeyalaterrr 04-30-2008, 03:53 PM shoulda just found out who he is and let OT take care of him, probably wouldn't be back after that.
