I purchased these 12/6/2006. My diff gave out before I got around to installing them. I bought a 3.38 diff from an automatic M3. These cost $463.40 from Koala with shipping. Absolutely brand new ... I have only partially unpacked the box.

So...if I were to get these gears, would I be able to use a lsd unit from another ratio diff and get it to work?

Yes. These gears were purchased for E36 M3 lsd. I will not comment as to whether they will fit any other diff versions. You could purchase a 3.15 lsd from the 95 M3 or a 3.23 (I think that's right) from a 96 -> 99 M3 and then swap in these 3.46 gears.

You could also get a 3.38 lsd from an E36 M3 auto ... but that seems silly. :-)

use usps to ship to Hong Kong ok?

I've done this before, and I'm willing to consider it ... but this is kind of a hassle from my side.

- I will provide proof of shipment in the form of a scanned usps receipt. I will not insure the package. Buyer accepts responsibility for lost package. (The problem is insurance claims on an international shipment are a royal pain in the ass.)

- Buyer pays $350 plus paypal fees plus actual shipping fees. I will go by USPS with the package and get a hopefully 100% accurate shipping quote.

how hard is it to swap the gears? I have a 98 e36 manual m3 with the 3.23 lsd and wanna get 3.46 would it be a better deal to buy the entire lsd or just swap my gears??

The bottom line is I don't know. I was going to pull my diff myself and take it to a local trans shop to have the gears swapped. Might seem silly, but I "assumed" when I ordered these gears I could get this done for reasonable $$$. 4 wheel drive shops swap diff gears all the time ... as you increase tire size on trucks you have to adjust diff gears proportionately.
