Just bought my first BMW - it's great! Just a simple question, with everything switched off and no key in the ignition I can still hear a fan running in the passenger compartment near the gear stick. Is this normal or would it account for the original battery running flat? The garage replaced the battery with a new one which was fantastic but I would like to know whether this battery will be drained by the fan too. The car is a 523i SE Auto (1996). Many thanks.

this is common :) my fan runs for a while after i've switched the engine off ...so i wouldn't worry to much .....welcome to the forum btw
