How often do E23 745i come up for sale? Any idea what kind of prices they go for?

Same questions for the E30 333i.

Hi Jay

Sorry 'bout the slow response.. was doing a bit of reading on the car and now understand why you are looking

..."The South African E23 745i is unique in that it is the only 7 Series model that is powered by the BMW Motorsport-designed 24-valve M88 powerplant also used in the E24 M635CSi coupe and E28 M5 sedan. This effectively makes it an "M7" in all but name. E23 745i models sold in the rest of the world use a turbocharged version of the 12-valve M30 engine instead"...

Pretty Cool :)

Ok.. can't find one off hand and it's a pretty rare car locally but I would guess your best starting point would be www.autotrader.co.za

I searched for you but the oldest 7 series I came across was a '88 which was selling for R28,000 ($3,700)

Also try http://www.motorlease.co.za/galleryview.php?gallery=Constantiaberg%20Autos

They have a good list of old vehicles and can probably try rustle one up for you.

Happy hunting - I'll keep my eyes open this side

M@!

Thanks for the replies and to Matt for the links. I have a goal that may not be achievable, but you never know: one each of the M88-based cars - E30 M3 (S14), E28 M5, E24 M635CSi and E23 745i (SA). I have two, an E30 is not that hard to find, but the 745i is nearly made of unobtainium.

No worries about RHD. It's legal here, and I've driven RHD before without any problems.

Ha, Would you believe that the car prices in the gulf country I've been working in are so low I picked up something called an e30 m-technic for 16k zar...
