View Full Version : M50/52 or s50/52 cylinder head
united323is 04-25-2008, 07:09 PM GOT ONE!!!!!!!!!!
Does anyone here have a good cylinder head with valves? The one I purchased on ebay ended up at Doraville United Parcel Smashers and they wrote this;
MERCHANDISE IS MISSING. UPS WILL NOTIFY THE SENDER WITH ADDITIONAL DETAILS. / ALL MERCHANDISE MISSING, EMPTY CARTON WAS DISCARDED. UPS WILL NOTIFY THE SENDER WITH DETAILS OF THE DAMAGE.
So anyone got one?
CDM5GO 04-25-2008, 07:58 PM How do you lose a cylinder head? WTF?

Leave it to UPS to lose anything. This is exactly why I ALWAYS ship Fedex...
Plus Fedex has the little arrow that will drive you insane every time you see the logo.

The arrow has driven me crazy ever since I was told about it. Funny story about FedEx though. The owner went to the glorious Harvard of the South aka Ole Miss and my friends dad had class with him. Well his final paper in a class was written about the idea of what became FedEx. The teacher said it was a great idea but would never work and gave him a C for effort. The owner of FedEx has this paper framed in his office now and every year sends a photocopy of the paper and his companies earnings to the teacher.:alrightI wish I was half as bad ass as that.
united323is 04-26-2008, 06:19 PM I think the head was stolen, 94lbs of metal is some good money at a scrapper. or reselling a cylinder head for more than I bought it for...

FedEx ground service is marginally better than UPS ground. UPS has smashed enough of our stuff over the years that I will choose FedEx, even if FedEx shipping costs more.
I once ordered a digital camera memory card that the shipper placed in a 6"x6"x6" box. The box looked like an accordion when UPS delivered it to me.
I have to agree with united323is - that head was most likely sold to a scrap metal recycler. :az
united323is 05-09-2008, 06:09 PM Bump, still need a head with valves. anyone got one(known good and not warped cracked, etc.)?
also need 12 lifters too.
328iJunkie 05-10-2008, 05:09 AM my S52 head might be good. No valvetrain though. Or a valvetrain but its out of the M50 head i put on the motor.
I have an M50 head, no cams. I'd have to pull it off a running motor though... make me an offer?
Johnny Redline 05-10-2008, 05:42 PM i got a m50 head with bent valves but i have another set of valves ready to be put in there. also one retainer is cracked and those at Bavarian Auto cost 3.50.
be glad to get rid of it
united323is 05-10-2008, 08:12 PM Matt: pm sent
Johnny, How much?
svart 05-12-2008, 10:44 AM OT: what arrow?
Johnny Redline 05-12-2008, 01:26 PM well strickly german will give you a head for 400 bucks. pull it off a motor that they are not sure if its working and still be like what ever.

I love how urban legends (in this case maybe not so urban) get started like this. Fred Smith was FROM Mississippi. He DID NOT attend Ole Miss (WTF does?), as Matt noted. So no, your friend's dad did not have class with him (unless he too went to Yale). :D
united323is 05-12-2008, 06:08 PM Got a head from Matt. Bill you can close the thread if you wish.
OT: what arrow?
Look at the white space closed in by the "E" and the "x" makes an arrow that you'll never forget.
