View Full Version : Large, empty parking lots or chunks of asphalt?
GeorgeM3SMG 04-24-2008, 12:31 PM Anyone know a nice large empty parking lot such as a closed K-Mart or similar that's in the Cobb county neighborhood? Maybe a large office building that is pretty much shut down on week-ends?
My parents' X3 is arriving soon and they've been driving POS cars for so long I want to take them somewhere to get accustomed to how the car accelerates and brakes before they rear-end someone or cause spinal injury from stomping on the brakes like they have to now. No doughnuts or anything like that, just somewhere to safely get used to the car with nobody else around.
There is a lot at the baseball park off of County Services Pkwy (in between Powder Springs Rd and Austell Rd) where I taught my wife to drive a stick. Let me see if I can get the address.

It's my *parents'* car. If it ever sees a dirt driveway, I'll be stunned.
Well, by their hand anyway.

That lot's been busy recently. I drive by it everyday on my way to work and people are using it as a cut through from 41.

You should have signed them up for Performance Center delivery!
Cwaters 04-25-2008, 10:49 AM The old Sams Club off Six Flags Drive is empty again.
+ = Big lot, Wendy's right next door when you get hungry, no apparent residential neighbors, and easy to get to.
- = A few light poles to look out for, not exactly secluded (can be seen by cops passing on the interstate...
GeorgeM3SMG 04-25-2008, 01:39 PM Thanks guys. DW, I forgot about that lot where the "we got *both* kinds of music, country *and* western" bar is.
I'm not worried about the cops. We're not going to be going that fast, just a little education about what happens when you stomp on a BMW, gas or brake.

I've been here in between meetings and ops planning. Work this week has been a real bitch. Reminds me why I hate politicians!
A special mission to afghanarabia would have been more fun as well as more productive.

I have been playing plenty of Call of Duty 4. So I am ready to tag along on the next mission!
disclaimer: for those of you with sand in your vagina, i mean no disrespect to the service men and women of our country by comparing real combat to a video game.

I have the special edition (out a year or so ago) that's got a bunch of extra footage and full-length performances on it. For instance, John Lee Hooker's performance of "Boom Boom" is full (and apparently recorded live in Market Street).
I highly recommend it for the Blues Brothers aficionados.
