View Full Version : Wheel repair?
e36mpwr 04-24-2008, 03:15 AM So I have some wheels I'd like to repair or have repaired. Three just need some "minor" curb rash fixed and I've read a few DIYs for this, but one has a small dent on the inside lip. I don't think I can easily fix the dent.
So I'm just asking BF.C if anyone would be interested in helping me fix these, preferrably someone with experience. I know spec wheels can get me a decent deal and I use to work with a dude at benz that can get me an even better deal, but I thought I'd ask BF.C.
Thanks!
Boostedcorrados 04-24-2008, 03:36 AM How bad is the bend? I can do anytime after sunday. this wheel was fully refinished.

e36mpwr 04-24-2008, 02:35 PM Wow that wheel looks brand new!!! The bend is on the inside lip and about an inch long and mayb .5 to 1 inch dented. I would take some pics, but the wheels are pretty far from me now :(
I wouldn't be able to meet up until after next weekend since finals are coming up soon. LMK

michaelsuoo 05-01-2008, 12:45 PM Hi BoostedC, I am new here. I own a set of white O.Z. wheels that I want them to be repainted, the same color no less. The brake dust is drving me crazy. Can you do it?
e36mpwr 05-05-2008, 04:24 PM Hey Boosted,
I was wondering before the wheels are repaired should I pull the old tires off? You don't happen to have this equipment, do you? And if you're still interested I should be able to do them sometime next week, its hard with work sometimes, so let me know!
thanks!!

Yeah I can do it. Are they multi piece or single piece wheels? I am going to be spraying a ton of white in the next few weeks(A full truck) and have some. Check out the Toyota Super white color. Its bright and a really nice simple white. Let me know if theres another color you would rather use if not i can cut you in on some of mine.

I don't have the equipment to do that yet so if you had the tire remove on the wheel then that would be helpful.
For anyone interested in wheel repair, I am in the middle of getting a Chrome and Gold plating set up. I will be able to do bolts, Centercaps, and after i get the bigger tubs wheels and motor parts but for now im sticking to smaller stuff.
E36Chubbs 05-05-2008, 07:51 PM Hey Russell... Would you be able to tell me if my wheels are 1 or 2 piece? Because it has little bolts around the wheel, and I thought they were fake until a friend pointed out that there is a gap between the lip and the spokes. Could it be a 2 piece or what?
Boostedcorrados 05-06-2008, 07:39 AM Like i said lastnight Critter pull it off to take a look. The back will have nuts. If you had the tire off you may see a silicone seal in there unless they are like style5's where just the center comes out. Your going to love what i did to my style 5's....Just to be funny i did Cosmos inners. I will bring one to the GTG on Wed if they are not on the car.
michaelsuoo 05-06-2008, 05:22 PM they are one piece... Toyota's Super white is fine... do you do clear coating after that? and one last question, where r u located?
thanks a ton!!

The tubs im getting to start out are smaller then bumpers. I would like ot work up to bigger tubs tho for suspension, Wheels, manifolds. For bumpers and stuff that size Denver bumper and Collins plating should be able to help you out. I will grab my plating list and see if anyone else around will chrome those for you.
michaelsuoo 05-08-2008, 06:42 PM Russell,
I was trying to send a PM over, but realized that this forum doesn't have that function or I don't have that function yet since I am still new. How can I contact you and how long is it going to take to get all 4 wheels cleaned, painted, and clear coated? And the most important question, how much is this gonna cost me?
Once again, thanx a ton!
Boostedcorrados 05-09-2008, 07:16 AM You can call me @ seven two 0-3 two 9-six three 01
I will need to see them and we can talk about it then.
