I will be ordering my cam kit pretty soon and does any AZ guys know of a mechanic in the Phx/Tucson area that would be able to install the cams/valve springs/HFM/chip/injectors without trouble? I hear that the install is pretty tricky and I am not too confident w/ my mechanic since the Vanos has to be adjusted and all. Anyway, if you know of any lemme know as I am going to make a trip up sometime this summer. Thanks!

Doug and James....where you boys at?

They're not BMW certified yet....they'll both be going into the program soon, but I'd trust either of them to work on my E46 M3 right now.

Tool wise though, go to either Beyer Motorwerks or this one bimmer shop in tempe...I'll find out the name.

I like Bav Motors Limited on 16th street and indian school (phoenix as it gets) and their pricing usually beats the competition

For Tucson go to Dearing Automotive.

I'll second Bavarian Motors. Andrew is a great guy. Tell him Eric Lukas sent you.

Definately Dearing Automotive here in Tucson. When I had my car (before the total last month) they did all the work from springs to a full engine rebuild. Absolutely amazing work and you can completly trust them. Bob Dearing does all of the enigine work himself. Talk to Rich, Bob or Vanessa and tell them that Gianni sent you.

I would talk with Greg at Ultimate Auto Works. They are in the Scottsdale Airpark. We take all of our cars there for any non-warranty work.

They are very honest and have always done a good job.

Ultimate is a little more expensive, but I trust them as-well

I recently had a not-so-great experience with Beyer in Chandler, so I'd have to say look elsewhere if you want to be confident that they were thorough on the work you're having done.

Hey Bryan....are you coming to Prescott on the 1st of June?

I forgot about you on the list of people I wanted to know were coming or not....you kind of went off the radar for a bit.

BTW-GNALUZU- You should come too....we never see any of your "PHAT" rides....I think it's time to show some of them off

Best regards,

Chris

Hey what up, Chris? I'm hoping to go on the drive. Right now I'm waiting on brakes to show up (I think they'll be here on Monday from Turner). I burned mine up pretty good out at the AMP track day. Anyone have a power bleeder for fluid? Anyway, I've been driving my beater while waiting on the brakes, but I should be back up by next weekend. :redspot

That would be sweet! I hope to see you there.

I'm doing my best to make mine as evil looking as possible:evil2

Chris,

Thanks for the invite, but I am going to pass. I go on a lot of drives with the AZ BMW Z3 club and the Honda S2000 club. Latley I have been getting extremely frustrated with the reckless and irresponsible manner in which people have been driving on these group drives. These other drivers have no right to put my life in jepordy when they decide to pass on a double yellow around a blind curve.

To each there own, I have no problem if people want to go out and raise hell on the roads, I just have no desire to be around that type of driving.

My thoughts on it, save it for the track. I am a member of ASRA and enjoy going out to events at PIR and will be going out to the new track by the base next fall.

It was nice of you to invite me, and I have nothing against any of you, I would just rather do my own thing.

Yeah, I can empathize with you there. It is true, some people choose to drive way too "out of control." It's not necessarily driving fast, but more so certain people pulling wreckless $hit. And that tends to ruin the drive for everybody.

If it's persuasive in any way, the usual group for our drives don't ever pull crazy nonsense such as passing " on a double yellow around a blind curve."

To each his own though, I'm sorry to hear you won't be joining us. And I hope to see you some time on the track. AMP by the way, is an excellent track.

Best regards,

Chris
