Hi, I'm new to this forum. Some of you might know my brother, Atomic80 (former M5 owner). I just put in my order for a 2008 M3 w/ retractable hardtop. I'm thrilled, but having some indecisiveness about colors. My top two choices are red and white, with a slight preference to red. I notice that many of the new M3s being delivered and posted about here are white. They look beautiful but that makes me even more likely to pick something a little different.

I've never had a car that stood out like a red car does before, but my bro's advice is that the convertible is flashy anyway, so just go for the red!

What do you all think? Does anyone have any good photos of the different colors? Typically I like the monochrome colors, mostly greys and slivers. But, I think that the lines of the M3 aren't done justice by some of the darker colors as compared to the brighter ones. Silver is cool, but there are just so many silver cars out there.

What do you guys think, should I go with red? Is this a new-ish red color for BMW? (I heard that Emola (sp?) red was the previous red M color)

Thanks for the help, I look forward to participating here (actually, I did own an X5 before, so I'm not new to the brand).

Also new here-

Mine's a Melbourne Red coupe with the CF roof-
I got the red to match my fathers car (07 Ferrari F430)
I also went back and forth on the red/white debate.
Having gone with red I would never go back. The metallic paint shines magnificently in the sun and takes a subdued, almost desaturated color at night. Way cool. People compliment me everyday on the spectacular color of my car, it definately stands out.

However, it almost stands out too much haha, first night I had it I got pulled over for going too slow (65 on the freeway), and then the next night I got followed by a cop for 4 miles all alone at night.

Also- its in the shop for 1200 mile service- When I get it back on Friday I'll drop some pics on here for you

Man, I don't like the cop magnet factor, but I'll definitely like seeing the pics!
