Has anyone purchased the wheel & tire insurance from BMW for their run flat tires and wheels?

I was quoted $980 from Global Imports for 5 years coveraged on my 335i coupe, seems kind of high especially if I want to get rid of the run flats in a couple of years and put on standard performance tires, they told me that there wasn't a lesser coverage term available.

Does this price change for dealer to dealer or is it fixed by BMW?

The asking price is fixed by BMW, but those "extras" are very negotiable from dealership to dealership...

First question would be what does the $980 cover? That's not quite what a set of Toyo T1R's cost for my car, but there's no chance in hell they'd last 5 years.

Back OT: Anyone know what the wheel and tire insurance covers?

I'd think if it covers wheel rash, that might be pretty damned good on the return.
