or whatever you call that little grey plastic box underneath the package shelf in the trunk. mine has a wee crack in it, probably repairable, but i wouldn't mind getting a new one, if possible. any ideas where to find one?
also, what does everyone else's look like? 'cause mine doesn't look like the one on realoem/bmwfans.info.

They are listed on http://www.realoem.com/bmw/
Cost is listed as less than $20. I assume they are available.
Then there are the salvage yards, or posting a notice on bigcoupe.com

On my 81, the gizmo under the package tray, in the trunk, about 30" long and about 8" across, filters the air that come in at the vents at the very rear of the package shelf. Kinda like a cabin air filter. It also could be there so there is no interior air pressure when shutting the doors with the windows up.. The vapor tank on mine is just above the right rear wheel well:redspot:redspot:redspot

must be different with an E28-based 6er then...my little box under there is about a foot square and has fuel lines runnning in and out of it, and has a bit of fuel sloshing around in it...the part on realoem has the same connections and whatnot, but looks bigger and of a different shape, so if i just order it by the part number, i'm afraid of getting this different one.
