Hello all. Noticed a ticking sound yesterday when I was warming up my 96 850. I was cleaning the engine bay and noticed a ticking sound coming from this area. The front passenger side. Please see picture. The ticking sound then disappeared after 1-2 minutes. You guys know what this part does and should I be concerned and replace it?

Thanks in advance.

That's the money-meter resetting itself.

Actually those are your "breather valves" coming from the DK's and going to the charcoal canister - normal sound, don't worry.

Gosh Tx...you trying to scare me. Thanks! BTW...saw the new Audi R8 this weekend. Kind of making me feel that 8 is getting kind of dated. But still get stares when driving. hmmm...got to finalize on a body kit. =)

I've seen quite a few R8s. Maybe some have been the same car? Seen it in black and also in silver.

E31 is more of a classic car IMHO. And a classic never goes out of style :D

Yup...Koizumi...I love my 8 and plan to keep her & possibly purchase another if can find a good one. Love to have different body kits on each. =) Only way it won't work if TX has jinxed me...hahah...knock on my 8's wood console.

The R8 I saw was at the Hawthorne dealer was silver asking $120K + a dealer markup of $50K! I personally didn't think it was worth it...should have carbonfiber front bumper pieces instead of black plastic for the price.

Wow, that's insane pricing! Los Angeles is a really screwed up place, ain't it! Interesting looking car but lots of plastic (in all the wrong places) as you noted. Somewhat looks like a 350Z?!

Yup...LA is kind of screwed cuz the Angelians here are all about image and buying stuff to compensate for their insecurities. haha..wait..isn't why I bought my 8? hehe... it kind of reminded me of the lotus a little cuz of the size. But for that kind of dinero...you can get a Ferrari/Porsche/etc...I would get a used viper instead. Luv the smell of gas and the vibrations! Definitely the R8 not worth it but hey...lots of people said the same thing when the 8 came out.
