So I noticed the other day when I was changing my plugs (no, im not the one that dropped a valve cover nut into his engine then tried to start it to "Blow" the nut out!!!) and I noticed the passanger side (front of strut tower) has a crack in the "goo" that BMW applies to the seams. Its ~2 inches long.

My question is, Can I take the fender liner out and have someone weld the seam from the underside?

My car rides on koni adjustables which the PO installed. I have not adjusted them and the ride is really firm which probably isnt good for the roads around STL. I will adjust the konis for a softer ride but was curious about the underside welding?

This is on the 95 M3 BTW

If I cant weld it from the underside, how would I get this fixed? without replacing the strut tower? :help

I think there's a weldable repair kit out there for these things, though I'm not too familiar with them myself. I'd recommend taking it in to a competent independent shop or to your dealer to at least get the poop on it. Then you can come back and tell us...
