Thought I would post my own music off topic. I am an over the top Jeff Beck fan, having seen him four times. For those of you who don't know, Jeff is a total car buff. Speed Chanel even did a special on him, trying to think of the name of the show. My wife just made me a custom CD for the ride down to Sharkfest with a bunch of driving tunes -calling it shark tunes. Can't drive 55 and the like. Roy
s Toy is his version of a serious "driving" tune, sans vocals. Anyone know it? Trust me, absolutely worth dropping into the Ipod/CD.

i am so jealous of you guys going to sharkfest, but i just cant afford it this year. just loosing the time off would grind my 325ix restoration to a 2 month halt, and 10K in, i cannot afford to stop. almost done
this really sucks b/c i put about 350 miles a week every week on my e24 in stop and go city driving, food delivery. i really think my car is one of the most driven e24's on the planet. the g/f tried to convince me to go, she is a bimmerhead herself, but i am to far in on other projects, as well as paying for her PhD.
me FTL
also, working my ass off right now trying to buy an e28 M5. she doesn't know about it, but that is what is really keeping me from SESF

Maybe these music threads aren't entirely off topic as the sounds are period correct for the cars.
Jeff Beck is certainly a tremendously creative guitarist and a good technician. He is not one to get stuck in any one groove. I saw him on the tour with Jan Hammer -- also in the mid-70's. Fantastic show.
We used to go to a few shows a week back then. I worked in a record warehouse in the Washington, DC area. We got promotional tickets to just about any show that came to town. Some of the best memories that come to mind (what's left of it): John McLaughlan, John Mayall, Albert King, The Who, Weather Report, Brian Ferry, Ron Carter, Robert Fripp, . . . too many nights out killing brain cells. It sure was fun though!
I always though it strange how the British Isles seem to put out an improportianately large amount of interesting music comparted to its geographic size?

jeepman2, I hear ya on the projects and saving money and such. My car is a DD too at about 250 mi/wk....but for the future keep this in mind...."if not now, when?" As I get a bit older I just figure that hey!, you never know what next year will bring. And with a woman who wants to go, hell, just jump in the car as soon as work is done and burn it down the road! Party till you gotta leave and then burn it back!....How's that for a teaser? hahahah...maybe next year? Joe

These cars will go forever if maintained. This one will be twenty in June and has 311 on the clock.http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc129/sbarley1234/023-3.jpg

I'll have to look through the LP/vinyl collection and see if there's any Jeff Beck still in there. I saw a show on Speed w/Jeff and his collection of hot rods. He is an enthusiast for sure.
Wife keeps asking when the albums are going to be gone. Never, how can you toss out memories, let alone good music.
