This is my first post on this forum, and reason for that is because I just bought my first beamer.
The model is '02 325i.
And I need help.
I bought car with both right doors scratched off completely, and I need new ones that I will install and have repainted. And there is where I run into this problem.
Wherever I look for the door, all of the sellers ask me if it is with swivel door handle or without. And it seems that NO ONE doesnt know, or doesnt want to say what the difference is. I went to dealership and the guy in Parts departments has never heard of the term, so he asked me if that is actual mechanism or only the handle. Of course I did not know the answer.
So is this the place where I will find my answer?
'Cause I can't wait to get the car on the street.

So my questions would be:

1. What is considered as swivel door handle ?
2. How to differentiate one from another and how to make sure which one I got ?

Your '02 model has a swivel handle (see http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=AZ33&mospid=47721&btnr=41_1354&hg=41&fg=40) This type of handle was used from September 2000 onwards. You should be able to swap the handles from your old doors.
Maybe the parts guys is asking you whether you need the handle assembly or whether you just want the door without any bits on it?

Thanks for the reply. Finally something to get me moving. I was on a junk yard here in the city (Calgary,AB), and they had 330 03, but in their computer they had it as w/o swivel, which confused me even more.
However, thanks again and I will get my order rolling today.
