which way do the washer circled in red go? they're #2 on the diagram but they show as flat instead of convex.

#8 are the smaller ones on the left. i looked up the part #s and they match but like i said, my #2 isn't flat...

The angle goes down. Otherwise they'll hit the strut bearing and bind up when you assemble it.

well the strut bearing isn't flat, it kinda sticks out to where the washer kinda fits around it. but then again it would make sense for the washer to face down since in the picture it's flat and it would have the same results facing down, it'd just be curved over the bump stop instead of being just being flat on it...

it is #2. They seem to come in various shapes. I just replaced the rear shocks on my 635 and had those "non flat #2" as well.

i don't even think my old one had one there... i wasn't really paying attention when i disassembled it. i haven't touched the driver's side yet though so i'll check it when i get to it.

so which way did you put yours?

I have to admit that I can't remember. But like you I still have to do the drivers. I'll take a picture and post it here.

my plan is to do it either today or tomorrow. So most likely I can give you the "support" you need quite soon.

were you able to do it yet? did you take note of which way it goes?

sorry. I completely forgot about this. It is as Layne says above:
"The angle goes down. Otherwise they'll hit the strut bearing and bind up when you assemble it."
