Ive got a problem. I washed out my engine bay, washed my car, and now one of the cylandars isn't fireing all the time. It was reall bad at first, i drove the car around a little bit, it got warm, i shut it off, and when i started it it seemed better(when i parked it after running it, i realized what was happening.) I got home, and every few seconds or so about 5-10, it would miss. Also the exhuast is really hot now. If it doesnt fix it self(ie whatever got wet gets dry) will my cats melt, cuz the fuel that is going into that cylindar isnt burning? I need help, idk where to start

OT: for all the people who dont like the fact the i contribute what little i have to contribute, just block me :D

Back on topic, i think water found it's way into something. Dont know what. I drove the car around, got the car up to operating temp, and dried the engine bay out. It went away. I am going to be replacing the spark plugs, boot, and coils eventualy. But for now my car runs perfect again.

Not to sound like a dick or anything, but you do post way too many threads ... every day there is 4 threads from you ... every time anything happens, you just run over here and go straight for the 'new thread' button. I'm not one to jump on the search button bandwagon, but really ... you should do it from time to time.

i make alot of threads so what, and no i dont come running for help all the time. Today i did, i was simply asking where should i start. I posted another thread about me installing my fan shroud. Really i post more about stuff im gonna do, want to do, or have done then problems occuring. This is the first reall problem that has happened. It cleared itself away. I will continue to post alot. I enjoy posting, i enjoy giving info, as well as reciveing it. So just relax, its not like some other people who accualy dont search first. I try searching and faq before i post a question. So if this is all you have to say im sorry, and ive already told you want to do, block me.

I don't find it annoying. When people ask questions, everyone else learns something. I mean isn't that the point of the thread! Gezhh, it seems like every day people on this forum get more and more angry and cynical. We're all here to learn and share our love of our cars. That's kind of hard to do when people whip out the flame thrower every time someone does something that annoys them even the least bit.

I'm just saying all of this because most of us wouldn't speak the same way to to each other in person as we think we can over the internet. Just because your communicating through a computer doesn't mean you can act like a child.

I would, and I do.

I like 'darock' but I'm oldschool, where you were expected to at least attempt to diagnose or assemble or disassemble something, using every resource you could find before resorting to asking for help. Asking for help is the same thing as stopping to ask for directions. Just not 'macho'.

hell if you are in the sack with a female, do you run to the 'internetz' and ask what to do because you can't seem to find the hole on your first try, or do you keep trying to resolve the issue yourself?
point of this thread is "a: I'm a panicker, b: I don;t take the time to type the resolution for my problem or ask for the thread ot be deleted when it turns out it was nothing"

hahahah:lol
You have valid points but Bf.c is not a dick swinging contest. You should be happy that you can solve your own problems. Some people who have spent far less time on the planet and even less around Bmws need to ask questions. I'm not saying that the OP should be starting 4+ threads a day but I do think that it's not to much to ask people to be polite to each other.

you think i posted this without knowing something about whats going on? I simply wanted to know where to start looking first, and i simply gave background as to what happened No, i do not run on here everytime i break a nail, i know no one likes that, witch is why i dont. I have also stated before, that i dont post hardly at all about something being wrong, im ussuly looking for info, going in the right direction, or seeing what other people are doing. Im sorry if i post too much, start too many threads, or hell, breathe too fast. Stop being so critical of people. I mean is it so hard to read this particular thread, over anyone else's thread. It's not a big deal, lets all stop being childish about this, and just get over it.

You guys are a bunch of girls.

OP: you post a lot.

The rest of you: treat each others with kindness...one of us may be able to help YOU next time.

I am sick of boards kickin peoples asses. No one knows everything...thats why these boards exist. Not defending OP, just trying to promote a better community.

what do you think causes it? Water between the boot? Or the coil pack shorting or something?

Of course, we didn't have the internetz back then, because Al Gore hadn't invented it yet.

oh, I'm guessing condensation letting the spark ground out.

Use some sparkplug boot grease and you should never have to worry again

water got into your sparkplug area. Remove the coil packs. use paper towel to obsorb all the water that is there. Or use compress air to blow it out.

Perhaps a tampon? Those absorb a lot. Maybe a light vinegar douche after?

douching is bad... kills the good bacteria and can lead to yeast infections.
