1991 850i, Laguna Green color, chrome factory wheels (they are meshed type but I don't know what they are called), 125k miles. Has ALL receipts and records. Over $10k in receipts. Never in accident ( I do have small dent in pass fender). Has all major services including timing belt, new rad, bushings etc. I seen many many 850s for sale. Some as high as 30k and some as low as 10k. I know the low ones have no records at all most of the time. I am just not sure how much more does having records add to value of the car and who would pay it.

timing belt??? If you meant timing chain, then why was it replaced?
Just from the description I would say $15,000 - $17,000.

..still curious about the timing "belt" though...

KBB is one way to find out. Remenber there are a lot of 91 available
and with 125Ks miles , and a few dents here and there, one has to be realistic, also this is not a fair way to evaluated your car, one need to see it or at least have many pictures, I would go out on a limp and say $11ks to $15ks .of this is JMHO

if its a stick you can get more for it than an auto in the same condition, no disrespect to the auto guys

W/o looking at the car personally, I'd still say if you could get 12k for it that would be all you could hope for.
Much as we love our cars, the marketplace is not so much in love w/them and the price reflects that simple fact.
Not too many places (outside of Vegas) that you can drop $30k (purchase + receipts) and still not get half of that back...

Where would you sell it besides ebay? This is not a car people will normaly buy

You're correct in the sense that it would have to be a BMW enthusiast, and one with some disposable income, considering the losses a majority have taken in the market lately. It would be interesting to monitor what is currently happening in the car auctions sold prices (Kruse, Barret Jackson, etc) this season.

A big driver of price will be how badly do you Need to sell it.

If you could wait a substantial period of time to find the right buyer it could run up in the high teens.

If you really, really have to unload it now you will get a lot less.

I see one of the reasons for lowering prices every time I drive by a gas station these days.:(

I would drive a 850 every day and pay the penalty at the pump just so I could drive an E31. Beautiful cars.

You need to find someone with that (My) mindset. Too bad I don't have the cash to bring her off your hands.

It's possible that color is a factor.

I sold my other 91 850i in less than 24 hours on craiglist... I basically broke even in what I paid for the car and parts. Did most of the labor by myself so I did not count that...
So it really depends where you want to land. Break even, make money or take a loss?

I hope this helps.....

Pictures and a detailed description of the services done to the car will certainly help us evaluate the car better.

As many pics as you can post, the more the better, from every angle. That is what I look for doing internet searches, to see if the seller is trying to hide something. Be up front with any damages, issues, also. If you lie about a dent, who knows what else your lying about.
