Wayne, no idea Sir... I just purchased the car last weekend and it come like that from the previous owner. He said he had it custom made somewhere in New Jersey.....

It does look like mine indeed. I guess lucky me... Tell you what, this armrest was a true blessing after driving almost 2000 miles over the weekend.... Is a great addition to the car...

That's ridiculous.

Such low mileage...

Nice!

Actually was even lower, at about 16.600 but drove it back from New Jersey and took some more trips with it last week......
But yeah that's the lowest mileage I ever seen on an 850... and it did not take me long to make a decision and buy it...

That's ridiculous.

Nice!

Very nice ride...

I got an arm rest from Auto Chic, matched the leather, $160, low profile, doesn't overpower the cabin.

Steff, after she took my 97 for a ride she said, " I can get used with this" :-) She got compliments and some dude hitting on her, or the car in less than 10 minutes at the grocery store..... Now I am kind of worry that I won't get to drive it very much..... O well I still have the white 91.....

Well, at least you have the White one (I like that color better anyway...)

I do like white better as well. To be honest I have no preferences what I am driving. They both handle the same way.... With the wokke chips on my 91 it feels as snappier as the 97 so I am happy with that.......
But the black got some good personality as well, so I should say that I love them both equally?

I don't know about black wheels man :-) I rather go with some CSI throwing star? I will have to steal my throwing stars from my white 850i and put them on.....

Curious about the armrest. How does your armrest install in the 8? The Autochic website doesn't discribe the installation. Does it have a flip top compartment? Did the leather covering match your upholstry?

The Autochic drops into where the phone was. It does not flip open.

Have a look: http://dcbimmer.tripod.com/1997bmw840ci/id2.html

Thx Koiz, helped a lot for that model. I still prefer the E46 conversion and will do that.

That does seem like the best way to go since the E46 armrest looks perfectly stock once fitted. I might have to do the same at some point.

Koizumi's link is basically it, and yes, the leather matched perfectly.
