Heres the story I'm about ready to do my 5 speed swap. I have a 325is with a production date of 6/95 I have purchased a 5 speed gretag tranny off of a 3/94 325i. I purchased the rod joint that is for a 6/95 325is to connect to the transmission. my question can anybody tell me what the difference is between the 189 and the 198 and any info on which one I would need thanks..

The early pivot is 10mm longer, hence the shorter selector rod.

so would I then use 198 for for my aplication
