Well me and my friend just did an oil change on his 540. All went went, tightened everything down filled it up. Now whenever we start it up the OBC is telling us to stop engine cuz theres no oil pressure. We shut it down waited a couple minutes and tried it again and its still giving us the same reading. Checked the oil levels and for leaks and everything is good. Anybody have any clue what could cause this? :(

Looks like someone may need to PM csoell and ask him to "spill the beans"...he probably hasnt come back to the e39 forum since he owns a 2003 330Ci (is that an e36 or e46? I don't follow the 3 series much)

The issue turned out to be a problem that was within the filter canister, where the middle plastic peice that the filter goes around it wasnt fully threaded the whole way down at the bottom of the canister, so the cover was able the thread the whole way but on the inside it wasnt. So nice easy fix thankfully, my friend was ready to call the tow truck. haha

Good info - something to pay attention to when changing oil.
