Hi all - new to the forums and not quite yet a BMW owner. Here's the deal - a family friend has offered to sell me his 2006 530i automatic. It's pretty well loaded - nav, etc. (sorry, I don't know the specific options but his seems to have them all). It's an auto trans and has about 49K miles. Was originally purchased by him brand new in December 2005 and has never been in an accident.

He is offering it to me at $25,500, which appears to be roughly the Kelly Blue Book trade-in value on the car. He basically doesn't want to bother trying to sell it privately. I had been looking at a lower mileage used 3-series but when this came up I couldn't help but give it some serious consideration.

My main concern is the very low amount of warranty remaining on the car. Anybody have any thoughts on this deal?

the warranty would be my concern as well. Although with the 06 e60 alot of the issues found on my 04 would not be there. I would but it and get it certified thru BMW before the warranty does out. Otherwise you will have to go to a third party and get a warranty.

You will want the warranty with it being so new, just for a piece of mind..
