So I found the face for the after market radio that was installed in the car under the spare tire. I popped it in and was happy to see that it works, now I finally have music!!! I noticed, though, that when I turn the car off, then turn it back on, the CD I have starts from the beginning, and all the settings are reset. I would love it if you said that it's just the radio, but know that it's more likely a ham installation job:nono. what should I check for/ do or be specifically looking for?

Just a wiring issue -
The yellow wire from the stereo needs to be hot all the time while the red should be hooked up to the ignition switch.
Most likely the two wires are simply twisted together and connected to the ignition switch.
Really stupid actually - the wiring harness costs about $10 and snaps right into the factory one - no need to butcher anything.
